Manish Wadhwa to play Chanak!

Actor Manish Wadhwa has earned good name for himself with his portrayal of the wise Chanakya in Imagine TV's Chandragupta Maurya.

Now the buzz says that soon we will see the talented Manish essaying Chanak in the show, who incidentally happens to be Chanakya's father. But this is certainly not going to be a double role. Sources from the sets of the show have updated that the historical saga is now gearing to enter a flashback mode. As of now, Chanakya is shown bedridden in the series. And now he will start reminiscing about his father, Chanak. His father will be shown an aggressive human being and will teach Chanakya the hard way. Chanak will have a diehard spirit and will pass it on to Chanakya. The same sequence will see the death of Chanak. The story will get back to track really soon, and Chanakya will recuperate.

Enacting the entirely different role as Chanak was indeed tough for Manish but he is said to have done it brilliantly. While talking to the sources about the same, Manish said, "The two characters share the same qualities, but Chanak is more emotional than Chanakya, hence I have tried playing it differently there and I hope the audiences like it. Another difference is that, the audiences have seen Chanakya for 100 episodes now, but they will get to see Chanak in just one episode, 101."
