Part 8 - Pankaj & Meeta Wedding

Finally everything was well in the dhillin family and in Rajbeer's life. Rajbeer and Preeto spent a lot of time together. Papaji and Beeji decided that rather than do all the ceremony they do engagament and then after 2 days wedding. Pankaj and Meeta have waited so long and they deserve some happiness.

Everyone in dhillon family got to know about NA, they couldn't believe it. Beeji just said she has no love as a mother.

Simran moved on but was looking for her prince charming ...

Dhruv and Ishu were happy together and were thinking about family planningbut ishu wasn't ready yet to be a mother, she felt it was too much of a responsibility.

Engagement Day

This is a simple engagement with only family members invited like Dhruv, Ishu , Simran , Rajbeer , Dolly Aunty , Mamaji and a few of the neighbours...

Meeta was dressed in a pink outfit and had her hair in a long pony tail with her fringe out. Beeji was already dressed so she helped meeta with make up and jewellery. Papaji was downstairs welcoming the guests.

Preeto and the other sisters were also getting ready, Preeto in a dark green suit with shades of gold borders and matching jewellery. Bani wore dark blue top with trousers and Sonu wore peach coloured trouser suit..

They all came down and welcomed Pankaj who came with Dolly Aunty and Mamaji ... Pankaj wore a cream Patani. He sat down on the chair that was decorated so lovingly with heart decorations and tinsel.

Rajbeer, Ishu, Dhruv and Simran also arrived and Papaji welcomed them. Rajbeer dressed in Patani . Rajbeer in blue with white bottomsand Dhruv in orange with white bottoms. Ishu wore orange and red churidaar and Simran wore white churidaar with white and gold laces hanging out the bottom of her frock.

Beeji bought Meeta down and sat her down on the chair, everyone complimented her. They proceeded towards the ring ceremony, Papaji stood beside Pankaj and Beeji beside Meeta, they had the ring boxes, Papaji opened the box so Pankaj could take out the ring. Meeta put her left hand forward and Pankaj put the ring (everyone clapped) then Meeta took the ring from Beeji and placed it on Pankaj's finger (everyone clapped again)

Preeto- Chalo mangni hogi ... ab khana shana kai?

Everyone laughed ... Beeji told everyone to help themselves with the food... everyone took their helpings , Rajbeer took a few somosas and was enjoying them..

Preeto- Itna mat khana ke pait pat jaye (laughs loudly as so does ishu, simmi , bani , sonu and Dhruv)

Dhruv - Preeto your too much!!

Rajbeer- Mujhe toh aadat ho chuki hain .. iske ghise pite jokes suna ...

Preeto slapped him on his back for joke ... when everyone ate the food ... Preeto said lets' dance

First Dance - Dhruv and Rajbeer on Desi Boyz
Second Dance - Preeto, Ishu, Bani, Sonu and Simran on Bole Chudiyaan
Third Dance - Simran and Preeto on Bahara
Fourth Dance - Couple dance on Ishq sufiana ... Dhruv and Ishu , Rajbeer and Preeto and Pankaj and Meeta ...

Wedding Preparations

Preeto, Ishu and Meeta went shopping for Meeta's wedding suit and Rajbeer and Dhruv went wihth Pankaj to get his sherwani. Meeta didn't want a lenga so she chose a red sharara with scarket beads embroided on the kameez and the sharara... Pankaj chose a gold and cream sherwani ...

The girls shopped for their own clothes too... Pankaj paid for the sherwani and told Dhruv and Rajbeer to choose theirs so Rajbeer got a blue sherwani and Dhruv got Dark green one ... Preeto told the other's she'll come in a bit and went to look for Rajbeer... she spotted him in a shop buying a blue sherwani ... she wanted her suit to match his ... she went back in the shop and got a shalwar kameez suit and a sky blue one matching Rajbeer's...

The preparations were going on in the dhillon family as they decided to do the wedding at home ... and Pankaj and Meeta were happy with it taking place at home.. the whole house was decorated with red roses and pink roses ...

-----------------------------Wedding Day-------------------------------------------------

Beeji and Papaji called the Pandit and he got the necessary things ready... Everyone got ready as the time was near ... Preeto was ready with her blue shalwar kameez suit , her hair opened and a blue flower clip in her hair and of course high heels to match Rajbeer's height. Bani and Sonu wore Churidaar, Bani wore hot pink and Sonu wore lilac.

Meeta wore her red sharara, the 3 sisters went in the room, Preeto did Meeta's makeup and Bani did her hair in a plait with little red roses in her hair and then she pulled her chunni on her head.

Bani- Wow di!! kitni pyaari lagri hain aap

Bani and Preeto hugged Meeta ...

On the other side , Pankaj entered the house wearing his cream and gold sherwani ... he came with Rajbeer, Dhruv , Simran , Dolly Aunty and Mamaji ..

Rajbeer and Dhruv in their sherwani's ... Simran wore black and silver churidaar... Ishu wore light green sari ... Beeji came with the platter and did arti of Pankaj ..
then they came in and sat down on the stool ... Ishu instantly went up to see her sister ..

Ishu- Wah Meeta di .. bauth sundar lagri ho

Preeto- Kyun nahi lage gi... humari Meeta di lakhon mein ek hain

they had a sisterly hug ...

Downstairs, Rajbeer was waiting impatiently for Preeto and kept looking at his watch... Dhruv looked at him

Dhruv - Kiska hain yeh tumko intazaar main hoon naa... Dhruv sang

Rajbeer- Shut up Dhruv main toh bas time dekh raha tha...

Dhruv - Yeah whatever! mujhe pata hain ke tum Preeto ka wait kare ho ...

Rajbeer smiles , Simran is also there smiling at him ... Dhruv then nudges him ...saying oye hoye...

Finally Meeta is making her way down the stairs with Beeji in the middle holding Meeta and then at the front is Preeto and Ishu holding a chunni above Meeta's head and from the back holding it is Bani and Sonu ... Meeta then sits down next to Pankaj.. Pankaj looks at her and smiles moving his glasses up at the same time.. Meeta blushes...

Rajbeer looks at Preeto from far and she smiles at him ... Dhruv watching the love scene going on between Rajbeer and Preeto then he whispers in Rajbeer's ear

Dhruv - Ladki hasi toh passi

Everyone gathers round the mandap ... Rajbeer stands next to Preeto ...

Rajbeer- Bauth achi kagri ho

Preeto- Ap bhi handsome lagre hain iss sherwani main

Pandit calls the father to do a ritual , Papaji steos forward and as Pankaj has no father Preeto's Mamaji is willing to perform this ritual . Pandit then reads mantars and Pankaj and Meeta throw necessary things in the fire, the it is time for the phere.. Preeto and Ishu tie the knot and then Pankaj and Meeta perform the 7 phere's and everyone throws flowers... Dhruv throws flowers towards Rajbeer and Preeto and when Rajbeer looks at him , he looks forward as if he hasn't done anything. When the phere are complete they take blessings from the adults and Meeta meets her sisters and starts crying .

Preeto- Roh kyun rahi ho... padose mein toh jari ho (she wipes Meeta's tears)

---------------------Bidai-----------------------------------------------

Bani has the platter with red colour in and Meeta puts her hand in and prints on the wall as a memory for her parents although she is going next door ... then Ishu has the platter with the rice in and Meeta gets the rice with both hands and throws it behind her ... Beeji cathes the rice with her dupatta and so does Preeto , Bani and Dolly Aunty. The family drop the couple of to the door , they meet Meeta and tell her to take care of herself and Pankaj.. and then they go... Pankaj takes it from there ... he opens the door and then Meeta has to perform a few rituals in going to the new house.. she drops the pot of rice and then does the prints of her feet with the colour on a white sheet... Pankaj then takes her up to the bedroom and the scene finishes with Pankaj closing the door ...
