i partially agree maddy but u can't deny the fact tht openings are made where hype, music, promotions and entertainment value is high -- katrina choses these kind of movies SHE herself isn't the reason, and even vidya got the great opening with TDP...why? for the same reason. Kahani doesn't have any entertainment and its bound to struggle, also the director has said tht cinema is not just about entertainment. I can't understand why vidya is being so harsh on the eyes of norms..in case of men, Naseeruddin Shah, Irrfan these people can give several flops yet nothing dethrones their status of good actors, and vidya is being keeping a check inspite giving solid performances.

now i am sure if kahani flops, they will no stone unturned to bring her down, if she does a good movie, what kind of justice is this. i can never understand the hypocricy of this industry.

Actually this entertainment is very subjective , if something is entertaining for you ,may not be entertaining for me .. Entertainment does not mean dancing on stages or item numbers , a good movie with a good story can be entertaining for me also ..Taare zameen par was as entertaining for me as IAM ..

Why would anyone even expect a movie like Kahaani to garner record-breaking openings anyway...

the movie, SO FAR, hasn't promised to cater to one and all, doesn't have maar-dhaar masala, or doesn't claim to have any, and no one in this movie is in it, just for the sake of their looks.

Why in the world would this movie even care about record-breaking openings

probably entertainment's actual meaning shall always be masala, stunts, item numbers...I AM was a very good movie we all know that but at tht time who cared abt its opening everyone knew how its going to open and wont even find some viewers on screen but in this case of kahani, they want to hype it just because they think tht vidya has become a great heroine...Geez let her be an actress..she needs to do such movies only then she can prove tht she also Acted in TDP similarly like she acts in other movies...
