As opposed to expectations, Kahaani will not take a great opening. In spite of Vidya Balan playing the lead role in the film, it will have to depend on word of mouth publicity.

Vidya Bagchi (Vidya Balan) arrives in Kolkata from London to find her missing husband. Seven months pregnant and alone in a festive city, she begins a relentless search for her husband. With nothing to rely on except fragments from her memories about him, all clues seem to reach a dead end when everyone tries to convince Vidya that her husband does not exist. She slowly realises that nothing is what it seems. In a city soaked in lies, Vidya is determined to unravel the truth about her husband ' for herself and her unborn child even at the cost her own life.

What are your expections ?Will it succeed or not?

Im afraid it will flop big time.

First of all ,i want to ask director of this movie , what had her husband come to do Kolkata from London??

i know it wont be an ATBB or Blockbuster .it might be an average or sleeper hit thats probability but one thing i m sure i would enjoy Vidya's performance thats it .it has high chances of being flop not because of Vidya but lack of interest of normal cine goers with such movie

Only Katrina can get great opening for her movies. The rest of them like Kareena and Vidya need strong WOM and good reviews for the movie to do well.

Maddy do you think if this film had katrina it would much better? Most of the katrina's hit films had more popular male costars.

Better opening and more buzz... Definitely...

But once it opens rest of course depends on the content for it to sustain, Even Katrina cannot salvage it if its something like TMK... Thats why even with a great opening it ended up to be a semi-hit...

Nobody expects or cares if this movie about a woman with full blown pregnacy is going to get an opening

Katrina has star power hence even MBKD had a good opening. But her movies have poor content. Thats why after the first weekend they are over. For Vidya its usually opposite.
