Suhana's Corner: How different is real life from reel life?

Hi everyone, there have been some changes in my life since I started acting in serials. I felt very happy when I got my first cheque and also realized the value of hard-earned money. Ishaan is so proud of me and is happy that I am getting popular.

Ever since I started acting in serials, I felt some changes in my life. First, everyone was very supportive about my work and looked forward to watching my serial every day. Then Maa got upset about my work timings and me not being able to spend time with Ishaan. Actually, she felt so out of concern for the both of us. Maa is too sweet but she gets affected very quickly. For example, when my on-screen MIL burnt Gauri's hand with iron, Maa thought that my hands are actually scalded. Though everyone joked about it but I know she got upset about the whole episode.

I was very happy with my first cheque. Everyone was proud of me and Ishaan was surprised to see the amount. He is feeling good that I am getting popular. Even his colleagues are asking about me. But I am somewhat disturbed about the effect my on-screen character Gauri is having on people in real life. Those who don't know the real me find it hard to believe that I am Suhana Kashyap. They all think I am Gauri, OMG! Am I right in enacting Gauri's character when I don't relate to her?

I am totally opposite her. I mean how she can quietly take in all the insults by her husband and her MIL! But my director says that this is what people want to see. My hair dresser was saying that her MIL is like Gauri's. Could that be true? Are there MILs in real life like Gauri's? Or are the on-screen characters different from real life's?
