I totally agree that Krishna-Sudhama act was the best act of the day. Honestly, I din't really like Raavan-Jatayu's act very much. Mohena did a splendid job with the harness and cables but dance wise i thought they lacked clarity. To me their dance looked a little messy. But that was given the best performance of the day. On the other hand, Pradeep and Sneha G did an awesome job in terms of dance, expressions and bringing out the characters to life. I don't see any offence to gods just because hip-hop was the style of dance. It actually looked perfect. That is how I know Krishna... mischievous, naughty and very charming which was very well portrayed by Sneha G. The act was so much fun to watch!!!

This really doesn't have anything to do with respecting or disrespecting gods! Respect comes from our hearts and it is shown by the good deeds done. In the music and dance industry, experiments are always made...and there are two groups of people. One group is curious to see what new can be done and the other group doesn't accept any changes made to the traditions.

its not about narrow minded. i am not saying the act was bad also everyone enjoyed it and me too enjoyed it. but the missing thing is respect and emotions as per me. in fact in any act i did not feel a respect of god and got connected to any act.

i dont know what narrow minded we are talking about. i just simply ask one question. if one elderly women who is more than 65+ years wears jeans pant and come in front of u. at the same time another lady of same age wear good respectful saree in neat way. would u not feel like going and taking blessings of the lady who has wore saree in respectful manner?(I would defiantly go and catch her leg and take blessings) on in other side would u feel like going and catching the lady's leg and take blessings of the lady who has wore jeans? defiantly not. ( my personal opinion. i may be wrong in somes case)

in whole what i want to say is. in our mythology we have made to be respected to our god with its own way. it comes in whole such as a song, costume, dance style, depth of the story everything.

in my opinion whatever mythological related acts u do it should be in such a way that u should feel like standing seeing the full act. gods characters should be respectful.

I remember when I saw the promo for this act, for a second I was like huh? Kanha doing hip-hop? And then I was really curious to see more... I waited for that act throughout the episode because I just found it so interesting that Kanha was doing hip-hop because it's so different..non-traditional so to say. I ended up finding the whole act very creative personally. But I think I can understand if some people were offended by the fact that it was a non-tradiitonal dance form for a God. What I REALLY disagree with is that Terence purposefully intended to offend anybody with his depiction of God...for that matter I don't think any of the 3 mentors set out to do that.. The hip-hop really was just a CREATIVE spin. TL did apologize in advance..He really is not the type of person who would intentionally discriminate and that too against God...

More on the performance..the hip-hop is really a very superficial layer of that whole act IMHO. The ESSENCE of the whole act was the beauty of the Krishna-Sudama relationship/friendship which Terence portrayed through little moments like the bit where Krishanji washes Sudama's feet, takes the chiwda that Sudama's wife has sent for him and as he opens it, Sudama's fortunes change when Sudama never outrightly told Krishna his problem..them playing around really..this is kinda how I would expect childhood friends to act when they meet up after a long time honestly--have fun and do things they would do before...From what I know of Krishnaji, he was a very mischievous, playful, humble, all-knowing, helpful, caring God..and I think TL showed that just fine..I don't think he cheapened their relationship or showed it in a vulgar way so I personally did not find it disresptful..To each their own I guess..

And it is the superficial aspect that ppl have latched on to...nobody has bothered to understand the depth of the act...I truly don't get it...I guess ppl are appalled by the idea of "humanizing" God in any way...God should always be standing like a stiff idol giving out blessings to everyone...there is nothing more to God...it is "disrespectful" to show God dancing in anyway other than a traditional way...As you pointed out, Krishna is known as a very mischievous, FUN LOVING God...unlike most Hindu Gods who are more dignified/serious types...the act was very true to that essence about him and not disrespectful or "lacking emotions" in ANY way...

The problem is that ppl always want to feel PIOUS towards God...and that "feeling" can only come in a "spiritual" atmosphere so to speak...bhakti, jaap, all the works...otherwise there is no "respect".

I guess the superficial layer is latched on to cuz we live in a superficial society anyways.

Dekho o deewanon tum ye kaam na karo
Bhagwaan ka naam badnaam na karo
Bahgwaan ko samjho
Bhagwaan ko jaano
O deewanon
Hiphop aur disco ko vishraam de do
Bhagwaan ka naam badnaam na karo
Logon ki aastha ka khayal to karo
Bhagwaan ka naam badnaam na karo
