One should really let other people call one or one's work intelligent. I just hope for Sriram's sake that it is as good as Johnny Gaddar.

Kareena's much talked about classical mujra in the film is likely to become an eye-catching PR focus. Was introducing a mujra instead of a regular item number a risky move, commercially? How did this idea come about? "Well, The mujra is not there in the film to add an element of entertainment. In fact, it is a requirement of the setting and of the narrative. There is a sequence in the film that has been largely shot in Pakistan and Afghanistan. We thought it would be inappropriate to insert an item number there. A classical dance form like mujra was what the script required. It was highly innovative to have a mujra in the film. In a way it was experimental, yet it was an integral part of the narration. Hope people will like it!"

I'm sorry... WHAT? And this after my defending the mujra number, too.

Likarsh, when Sriram and Saif use that word classical they often use it in the context of opting for a traditional dance form over a more modern "item number", like a club dance.
That's what Saif has said atleast.
Btw, Pritam, the composer, maintains its NOT a classical mujra.
"The song is not a classical Mujra number. There are distinct drum and bass beats which gives the song a very different identity. People need to understand that." For people not familiar with the word mujra, it is a form of dance which originated from courtesans during the Mughal era. So instead of arguing about which genre the song would fit into, Pritam gives us a simple solution. "Why not call it Mujra ' Agent Vinod Style?"
If the composer presents them wiht a song that's not a classical mujra, how can the song be choregraphed classically?
