Part Seven

Manyata was lost in deep thoughts as they reached the rajmahal. She would stay with her family here for sometime to get to know them again. When she felt up to it they would all guide her back to her usual routines.

Who was that man they had met outside the airport? Udayveer had not spoken much about him but she could sense he was trouble. The major fact that he was confusing her for someone else. Who was Monia?

She composed herself upon seeing Dadisa waiting with the rest of the family to welcome her home.

"Manyata, Uday beta you both have returned on a auspicious day. Jai Nandini's roka with Jagat has been announced this morning to the media. The ceremony will be next week," Dadisa said.

Manyata exchanged a slight smile with Udayveer.

Dadisa and Komal took turns doing their aarti. Jai Nandini stood nearby neither looking happy or sad. She was happy that she found someone to dance on her finger but she wished she could have landed someone more refined like Udayveer. She couldn't have him of course. She had accepted this after her sister and Udayveer had gotten engaged.

Manyata hugged Komal.

"Beta aap dono theek to hain na?," Komal inquired.

Manyata nodded. Komal turned to Udayveer.

"Aap kaise hain Udayveer?," she asked softly.

She knew guilt was riding on his mind. He had asked for her forgiviness from her when they had all been in the hospital. He had taken her hands and said,"Aunty Komal I failed to protect. Her. Humhe maf kardo!"

They all settled in the main room. Tea was served. Manyata indicated to the servants she would serve everyone. To everyone's surprised she served everyone the way they liked it.

" Thank-you Manyata beta. Ab kaise feel kari hain aap?," Brijraj inquired.

" Bilkul theek Majraj, I mean Papa," she quipped.

She frowned before turning to serve Udayveer. He smiled at her as she served him.

Udayveer took a sip of his tea and nursed it like he did his drinks at times.

Manyata took a biscuit and dipped it in his tea and then started to eat it. Everyone looked at her surprised.

"Manyata you dipped your biscuit in Udayveer's tea!," Vijay Bhai exclaimed.

"Toh kya hua?," Manyata said.

She took the cup from Udayveer and handed him hers.

" There problem solved," she quipped as she sipped down the tea.

Udayveer grinned to himself. Everyone exchanged smiles. Manyata was remembering her former habits. She used to this at times to bother Udayveer. However he would always take her untouched tea instead and not even show an ounce of annoyance.

After tea, Unnati arrived to meet Manyata. She wanted to update Manyata about their work with Dr. Sonia.

Udayveer and Brijraj moved to the library and talked for awhile. Udayveer told him about meeting Akash outside of the airport.

"Did that scroundrel try anything with you or Manyata?," Brijraj roared.

"Nahin. Uncle Brij, I made sure he didn't trouble Manyata and you know me, as along as our people are safe I could care less about others," Udayveer declared.

"What if he meets Manyata again? What will we tell her about him?," Brijraj inquired.

Udayveer looked solemn.

"Once Manyata remembers everything she will know it's best to ignore him. However for now I have told her he is a bad thorn from the past. I am hoping she heeds my words."

" I really hope so Udayveer," Brijraj stated.

Meanwhile the girls were going over schedules and talking to Jai Nandini about her plans for the roka.

" Was I this happy when I was about to marry Udayveer?," Manyata inquired.

Jai Nandini smiled. Unnati got lost for a moment.

" Those were fun days Jiji! We got to do so much shopping." Jai Nandini declared.

"We did lots of masti too. You and Dada danced all night on both sangeet and reception. No one was able to sleep those nights. We were so excited!," Unnati exclaimed.

Manyata smiled.

The girls discussed each other's attire for the big event. Then Jai Nandini got a phone call and then Unnati brought up their routine for the NGOs they supported.

"Dr. Sonia is available tomorrow morning if you feel up to meeting her." Unnati stated.

Manyata recalled her words to Udayveer the other day. She should start her normal routine again.

" Yes I still have lessons I attend right?,"Manyata inquired.

"Yes you were taking pre-law courses. Dada wants you to be involved in the hotels once you finish the coursework," Unnati stated.

Manyata smiled, she definitely had plenty of things to do with her time. This was better then sitting home and trying to remember what was forgotten.

She got up but fell dizzy.

Unnati noticed this and told her to please sit down.

"Unnati tell Dr, Sonia we will come meet her tomorrow. I am fine. I had some dizziness once in London," Manyata admitted.

" Did you ask the doctor or tell Dada?," Unnati inquired.

Manyata shook her head.

A headache came on as she had some flashbacks of the man who had called her Monia.

"Monia I was very hurt seeing you with Udayveer. You know he wants to take you away from me," the man said.

"Akash Udayveer aisa nahin hain. He helped me become what I am today," she replied.

"Monia you have changed," he replied.

"No just my name is not Monia anymore. I have realized Manyata is who I really am. I have finally found myself after years of being someone I am not," she declared.

"Manyata kya tum humse shaddi karogi?," Udayveer inquired on his knee.

She turned to face him. She had been crying over something but took a deep breath and ran towards him.

"Of course karongi Udayveer, Haan nahin toh!"

Manyata collapsed on the bed.

Unnati made sure her legs were on the bed and then went to call for help.

Udayveer and Brijraj met the pale palor of Unnati's face.

"Dada Manyata has fainted," she stated.

Udayveer dropped his glass. It shattered on the floor.

As they rushed up the stairs, Unnati told him that Manyata had fainted like this once in London.

"I can't believe she didn't tell me," he muttered.

Brijraj, Dadisa and Komal arrived with Doctor Saab.

Udayveer placed her more comfortably on the bed.

"Princess please wake up," he urged as Doctor Saab started checking her vitals.

She opened her eyes slowly.

"Hello Manyata beta. Aap kaisa feel hora hai?," Doctor Saab inquired.

" I am fine. I just had a bad headache," she muttered.

She looked to see Udayveer staring at her gravely.
