Ok that was my take on the current Hindi film thats raking the current awards😆😆😆...the Dirty Picture, ...interestingly made by the same Ekta Kapoor who spearheaded the great revolution in Indian television soaps😆😆😆
So fellow IPPKNDians...given that the mantra is "TV Soap love stories run on Passion Passion Passion, and this is Passion"...I was quite cool about yesterday.😛
Nothing that we have not seen before😳...so I usually concentrate on Sanaya's make up and Barun's face (who am I kidding, Barun's entire structure😉😉 LOL) most of the time...once in a while they act outstandingly, mostly they act very well and are spectacular together and that is all there is to it.
Because all of todays worries...will vanish, the minute we have one scene of ASR coming out of a shower, or Khushi coming out of a shower, or ASR going to the shower, or Khushi going to a shower, or both coming out of a shower, or both going to a shower...ok relax JW relax😆😆...ermm showering...a simple, mundane activity in my life😆😆😆😆😆...but an outstanding take on passion as per this serial's creatives.😆😆😆😆😆
So in that spirit, here are a few thots for the day😃
1. NK dont go, dont go NK😭
If any one from 4 Lions or whoever that is responsible is reading this, can you please retain this guy. For starts, Karan Goddwani is so charming😳😳...Secondly, his NK is the only relatively realistic, contemporary soul in this entire...ermmm passion story.😆😆
And he proved this again yesterday by being the only soul, who though he was shocked and hurt, had the sense to not panic...I repeat not panic...and ask the relevant question which is - if all this is masterminded then what could have been the real reason?
Love you NK!!🤗🤗...will miss you😳
2. Let me kill the Guptas, but not for a crime they did not commit and let me apply the same yardstick
If I have to be forgiving of ASR, that he acted like this because he is under great emotional duress, if I have to forgiving of Khushi that she is the bechari sacrificial lamb...then I have to forgive the Gupta's also, as they too were dealt a great blow yesterday (coz Khushi's one action has jeopardised both her and Payal's marital status now nad their reputation, which can mean a lot for middle class folks)...
Because I want to apply the same yardstick😳😳
ASR is no innocent lamb who never hurt anyone or manipulated anyone, but now when he is hurt and manipulated, I do feel for him. 😳...Khushi is no white pristine cotton, who did not try to act God, so now when she is in a mess, I do feel for her. 😳...
So same way, Guptas are the same jerks who hid Shyam's truth...but that does not mean that I should deny them a natural reaction, the fact they felt their adopted daughter should have at least taken them into confidence if there was a problem, before running away, and getting married off clandestinely...its a knee jerk reaction that a parent/ family can have😳...And I cannot forget that before they chose to keep quiet, both Buaji and Payal were supporting Khushi's action of telling Anjali...that it did no happen, is a TRP storyline demand.😆😆😆
So maybe just as I expect ASR and Khushi to mellow down and bring on the passion😆😆😆...the Guptas too will realise their folly and seek forgivness of Khushi😳
3. At least cite the right mantras
Ok I am a Hindu and for my non Hindu readers, the mantras that you heard yesterday have not much to do with the actual marriage vows ...that is if we can call it a marriage to begin with😆😆😆...
they are typically mantras that are chanted to invoke peace and chanted during significant poojas...
But anyway, for anyone who cares, here is the translation😊
Verse 1

"Sarva Mangala Maangalye,Shive Sarvaartha Saadhike.

Sharanye Tryamba Ke Gauri, Naaraayani Namostute."

This is a verse in worship of Devi Durga, (Devi Maiyya😊), and it is translated as follows

"Adorations to Goddess,

who is the auspiciousness of all that is auspicious,

who is the consort of Lord Shiva,

who is the bestower of every desire of one's heart.

Adorations to You!

O Devi, I have taken refuge in you."

Verse 2

"Swasti na indro vridhashravaah

Swasti nah pooshaa vishwavedaah

Swasti nastaarkshyo arishtanemih

Swasti no brihaspatir dadhaatu.

Om shantih, shantih, shantih"

This is a verse to worship Lord Indra and invoke peace (unerlined words are names of Hindu Deities and sages)
"May Lord Indra (who is) extolled in the scriptures, Pushan, the all-knowing Trakshya, who saves from all harm, and Brihaspati who protects our spiritual lustre, vouchsafe prosperity in our study of the scriptures and the practice of the truths contained therein! Om peace, peace, peace!"
PS: Its sad to routinely see a joke made out of ones religion, ones scriptures😭...all in the name of passion filled direction...but then, lets not fret, ...given we are amongst the worlds top 10 countries on the "hunger index", there is lot more to worry about than the ASR -Khushi passion filled love story😳😳...
...and so lets look forward to some more passion...Ooh La La😆😆😆😆
Great day/ evening😊 girls, ladies
PS: Barun Sobti ...HAIRCUT, HAIRCUT, HAIRCUT, HAIRCUT😆😆😆😆

🤢Ok that was my take on the current Hindi film thats raking the current awards😆😆😆...the Dirty Picture, ...interestingly made by the same Ekta Kapoor who spearheaded the great revolution in Indian television soaps😆😆😆

Hello JWMRK you've kept me waiting!!!! lol just joking..😃 was the dirty picture full of passion passion and passion and passion and passion, sorry shall i go on? probably not, no definitely not i think!!!
So fellow IPPKNDians...given that the mantra is "TV Soap love stories run on Passion Passion Passion, and this is Passion"...I was quite cool about yesterday.😛

of course where would we be, if it were not for passion 😳 for the sake of fictional passion I'm amazed at how much we all are at each others throats around here, its like watching a bunch of kids fighting over one toy ( the toy being someone's pov), 😆 and the one that gets the toy isn't even satisfied, cause he or she hasn't felt that (their point has hit home enough.!!!) 😉 so around the bend we go again and again,

Nothing that we have not seen before😳...so I usually concentrate on Sanaya's make up and Barun's face (who am I kidding, Barun's entire structure😉😉 LOL) most of the time...once in a while they act outstandingly, mostly they act very well and are spectacular together and that is all there is to it.

seriously her make-up job is quite amazing, and totally agree they are spell binding together...
Because all of todays worries...will vanish, the minute we have one scene of ASR coming out of a shower, or Khushi coming out of a shower, or ASR going to the shower, or Khushi going to a shower, or both coming out of a shower, or both going to a shower...ok relax JW relax😆😆...ermm showering...a simple, mundane activity in my life😆...but an outstanding take on passion as per this serial's creatives.😆

(good point) totally amazing how the serials make the most mundane thing into a work of sheer breath taking heart stopping passion, when i'm in my kitchen i can't wait to get out of it quick enough, yet when i see khushi there doing her jalebi's i'm like jeeze damn that chic makes it look so much fun, 😆 maybe cause she knows that arnav is about to do his now you see me now you don't stint...

I throughly have enjoyed karan's time in IPKKND he's been a fresh breath of air for me, i'll greatly miss him, well said JWMRK today he was the only one with any sense left, good thing he's leaving with it😆, cause the next couple of weeks well be mind boggling non sense🥱
And he proved this again yesterday by being the only soul, who though he was shocked and hurt, had the sense to not panic...I repeat not panic...and ask the relevant question which is - if all this is masterminded then what could have been the real reason?
Love you NK!!🤗🤗...will miss you😳
I second that!!!

2. Let me kill the Guptas, but not for a crime they did not commit and let me apply the same yardstick

totally well said, kudos to you JWMRK👏🤣
So maybe just as I expect ASR and Khushi to mellow down and bring on the passion😆😆😆...the Guptas too will realise their folly and seek forgivness of Khushi😳

I'm really hoping for this show to get back on track fast, cause i'm tired of this family drama, i want some passion passion passion 😆
Nothing bothers me more when religion is used and portrayed wrong, writers should respect their viewers more than that...just when people use religion to hide their heinous crimes...i'll leave it at that...uggg🤢
...and so lets look forward to some more passion...Ooh La La😆

yes i think we should leave it right there, passion and passion, i don't want to go looking for more than that after last week and this week as well, i thing the cv's owe their viewers some passion in over time doses...😆 its been a pleasure as usual😃 you keep that mantra up about the haircut one of these days I'm sure JWMRK you will get your well groomed Arnav back...😉

landr4,😃
We meet again.
Well, not watched the Dirty Picture, as the twin assets of a woman getting bounced about or in your face is not my idea of fun or fantasy😆
hmm, about your comments on passion, the logic and the Guptas feedback...the only thing that amazes me is that we are so quick (and yes I will first and foremost include myself here as I am as guilty of it😳) to slap about the Indian audience and the so called TRP housewifes...a bunch of nameless people who are not fighting back on our comments, if you know what I mean😳...maybe the only entertainment these housewifes have access to is the television set ...maybe Hindi is the only language they understand and they have no concept of what else to watch...but we, the so called educated masses, who have access to technology and a contemporaty mindset...are also watching the same wine in another bottle right😆😆😆😆😆...
so I dont bother with the facade...I watch this for the guy...period...no shame there if you can understand, only being brutally honest about myself😳
and the leads look and act really well together...so thats a clear plus point for this serial👍🏼
NK was good, the actor looks dignified...will miss that
As for my take on the religious verses, thought we hear them so often and some may want to know what these actually mean...But to tell you the truth, I think that we ourselves are responsible for it. We have no respect for our religion, almost always use it in serials to show some fun and festivity or some inauspicious track like if the milk spills over it is inauspicius (I mean come on thats a simple case of unattended overboiling😳)...so then if the people from other countries or religions may think this is odd, then why blame them...
But then such is the contemporary Hindi TV industry now...
So to come back to the point, I am still in the game and my only beef at this point is that my guy needs a Haircut🤣
Appreciate you wrote😊...Thanks!

JWMRK, the success of Indian Television has touched all walks of life, all ages, crossing cultural and religions, and that tells me that simply it has found a formula that works, like you said, "same wine different bottle"👏

I just really like that fact this show has nothing to do with the sass bahu drama, i will keep watching IPKKND I'm a huge sucker for a good love story, and that is the appeal this show still has for me, i need to see arnav find his love admit to it, and flourish in it... I wonder what i will have to go thru as a viewer to see this come to pass...

Religion is so sacred i always cringe when i see it being toss around carelessly, l loved the world religions class i took eons ago at uni.. I wish the writers would use religion to up lift these shows in the time of need with the leads, instead of using it so carelessly, so let me understand this, so while arnav was marrying himself to khushi ( can he do that by the way, don't you need a pandit to get you married if you are of the hindu religion?) the chant that was being used was about peace?

Always a pleasure... 😃

You know it as well as I do that if we set about finding logic and sense, we are in the wrong lane.😳
At the same time, this is someone's creative fiction, and I respect that 😳...They have a right of showing what they want. We as viewers have a right to watch it or leave it and comment on it. Only point here is sometimes when people ask you to shut up, I feel the the makers cannot expect people to be silent or only be appreciative, because this product of theirs is for general audience viewing, right? 😳...So yes, so far they have got it right, the TRPs are well and as far as they are concerned its objective achieved.
As to marriage, now thats a debate. A man and woman can give a "live-in" the respect of marriage and a real marriage can be nothing more than sex and lies.😳
But given that "all" of us are in a society and belong to some or the other culture, there are rituals that you observe to get married. India has a lot of states (I am presuming you are not from India for a minute, apologies if you are😊)...and the marriage rituals differ for Hindus depending on the respective state, or sub-caste they belong to.
But primarily if you like, the important ones are
a) you get married at an appointed auspicius hour, set by the pundit (priest) called the 'Mahurat'
b) the varmala, the first step that you are acknoweledging your partner
c) the "mangalsutra", or "taali" or "chuda" depending on where you are in India, your sign of a man taking you as his wife, again accompanied by chanting of certain specific verses
d) the sindoor (not all Hindus wear that) or in South India a jewel you wear on your toes, again the sign of you entering a marriage
e) and most significantly, the 7 or 4 pheras (walks around a holy fire, fire to Hindus is something that sustains life😊) which are taken along the chanting of specific vows
so the religious part of the marriage has the same weightage given to vows and prayers being chanted, the way I have seen in Muslim and Christian weddings...and a marriage is presided over by a priest.
Now lets come to the legal aspect...sorry this is my education taking over😆😆...under the Hindu Marriage act, some of the above rituals, if not all, done in the presence of witnesses (that is your relatives, friends a priest) is regarded as a marriage,...whether or not you register the marriage officially with the registrar😳
Hope that helped😊
I dont have a problem with Arnav and Khushi thinking they are married, even if all they did was a live in...now this my liberal side is taking over😆...
but lets not call a dramatic, TRP induced, half hearted flash of sindoor spilling over by a threatening man...as a marriage vow...if Arnav wanted he could have given the same ceremony some dignity by getting a priest...
but then this is a serial, and the director, Lalit MohanClapClap (if you can see through it the script now it is very intelligent for once😳)...has now left it open to interpretationClapClap...so later on, depending on their moods and demands of the story...either Arnav or Khushi can call this a marriage ...or not😳
Cheers😊

Ohh okay, thank you for explaining the marriage rituals to me, and yes i can see why its been left up to the viewers interpretations, very cleaver
indeed. I'm wondering if that is why Arnav said what he did regarding the sindoor and the mangalsutra, he's maybe saying that to him these don't hold much value and kushi is free to interpret these two as she wishes to... that was very consistent with ASR forward thinking...

I'm beat i'm off look forward to tomorrow's battle arnav VS jijajiii, looks very promising, considering Arnav hasn't said much as of late, mind you his actions are screaming out on top of his lungs...sadly noone is listening...🤔

😃 thanks for you time...

a great post .. i couldnt stand the stance of so much mockery of a holy institution like marraige that too in front of God .. marraige is the happy union of two consenting .. here one who does not beleive in the sacred institution is forcing another with god being the witness .. ya it is a traumatic union but atleast the rituals should be done properly a priest as a witness would have sufficed .. in the name of trps they have assasinated their own characters.. nd lm rightfully deserves to show us a really good wedding if he wants to increase the trps ...thanks... i have vented it out .. now im at peace..

Hmmn, my personal view is that the leads characterisation is increasingly being compromised and so is the story...all in the name of a promise of passion...which is a couple gazing into each others eyes or bumping into each other or some such stuff.😆... Natural and rational people do not do this, no matter the provocation. Are we saying that none of us go through such bad experiences ...do we see people running about in rage and marrying or sacrifycing...no
But ok ...to continue our discussion for pure debate purposes...based on the story so far, ASR is clearly hurting and the only reason he dragged Khushi up this charade was to serve his means of this marriage being a deterrent to Shyam...what deterrent is something only Lalit Mohan, Gul Khan and Gautam knows...coz the Shyam that we have been shown is practically a step away from killing Anjali and raping Khushi.
Maybe I am old-fashioned, or a prude or simply too realistic...but no you dont call that marriage...marriae is a respectable union of two people and their families...you dont make a joke of it...no matter how hansome your lead is or how pretty his love interest is
If a pervert guy on the street applies sindoor forcibly on my forehead, will I or rather should I accept I am married...
If a pervert guy stalks me and drags me to a temple and forcibly thrusts a mangalsutra on me, does that make me married??
I want to ask this question...what if the person who dragged Khushi up the temple stairs was Shyam???...would we all have still hailed this marriage😳😳
Or would we have been horrified...the way Khushi is now.
what if the person who dragged Khushi up the temple stairs was NK???...would we all have still hailed this marriage???...or suddenly changed track and called NK an opportunist😳😳
We all deep down know the answer, no matter how we much we defend ASR or Khushi or both...this is not something one does in a civilised society.
And if you remember my earlier post, this has caused an equal damage to the sensitive Anjali...
I have equal sympathy for ASR and Khushi, just as I have equal disappointment for the wrongs they have done😳
From a clinical practical mind, the only good ASR has done (for himself though), is that if Khushi were ever to sue him...he has no obligation for a divorce settlement...for this is not a marriage in the eyes of any law...of course the creative care a hoot about law and stuff like that...😆😆😆
which brings us back to the original point that there is no point in finding purpose in a product that itself does not know where its heading😳...and that is the real feedback for this serial...despite having a talented cast ...we are where we are heading😳😳

I too don't want NK to go. If he has to go, plz don't bring anyone else in. Utilize the existing characters to the max.

After 2 days, I realize the anger of R & G family is justified. We would have been disappointed if like Nani said, Arnav & Khushi would have been welcomed delightedly.

It all comes down to this, Why couldn't arnav or khushi inform them they want to get married to their own family. Apnay hi toh hain.

Nani and Anjali have always treated Khushi as their own, so they are as disappointed with Khushi as they are with Arnav.

Nani and Anjali really wanted Khushi as their Bahu, as Arnav's wife. They wanted her to enter the house with the respect and love she deserves as Khushi and as Arnav's wife not the sneaky way she was forced to enter.

Have a feeling R family will be the first to cool down. Bitwa is already making sure of that.

He knows he has isolated her from her family and he will make sure atleast his family accepts her. With the threat to leave the house with Khushi, the wheels are in motion.

As for mantras, kya boloon yaar, hope someone looks into it.
