My pick is Rani in Black...she was better in Hum Tum. Aishwarya in Devdas was also overrated...Madhuri was much more subtle and impactful than her.

Also, in my opinion Priyanka was actually very good in Fashion...she didn't go overboard with her acting in that movie unlike some of her other forgettable performance"s". And I don't even remember that Urmila did Bhoot :S

I agree that Priyanka's performance was overrated in terms of awards, but I don't think it was overrated in terms of the audience response.

To my surprise, not enough halla was macha-ed by her performance, unlike that by Kareena in JWM, or by Vidya in TDP.

I feel like Priyanka did this role beyond beautifully, but I don't know... I wish there was more widespread appreciation for her performance. Fashion was totally the heroine's film, and I wish, at least for the sake of THAT, that there was more popular acclaim than just critical acclaim.

well i feel its priyanka as well! i would have said aish but she wasnt appreciated as much as PC, she got a national award! even though i believe aish is the only non-actor from the list, i would have clealy said her name had she gotten a national award!

PC imo was alot better in 7 khoon maaf, but she got more appreciated for fashion, she was really good in it, no doubts abt it but i believe it wasnt a national award performace neither was kangana's in fashion (as she got a national award too)

It's kind of confusing how to think about overrated performances...are you guys basing it on awards or audience response? Because Aish in Devdas...was it really overrated...I don't see anyone going crazy about her role...maybe at the time of the movie..but nowdays...no one even remembers her performance. So is it really overrated?

A combination of them all - i.e. audiences gushing, critics raving, tons of awards being bestowed upon them, or just being hailed as evergreen classical acts.

Hence I went with RM in Black. She was quite decent in some parts, but as a whole, the performance wasn't very convincing of what she was portraying. And the performance is treated like BW's best ever.

IMO it isnt! she was just ordinary in it but since we dont see ppl going gaga over it like kareena's in JWM or priyanka's in fashion, it just got what it deserved may be a little more but not really over-rated!

Rani's performance in black was termed by critics and most of the audience as "EXCEPTIONAL" now this word is definitely a huge compliment, whether it was upto it or not is another story but its definitely considered one of the most powerful performances till date in bollywood!
