Can VIDYA BALAN do COMMERCIAL films again?!

😃😃😃 Well, I think this is a valid question that needs to be addressed. 😉😆 We all love Vidya Balan, but what was her last real COMMERCIAL film? I think it was that forgettable film she did with Shahid, Kismet Connection. 😕 I know she can do COMMERCIAL films again since Lago Raho Munnabhai and Bhool Bhulaiya were blockbusters. The Dirty Picture was a commercial hit, but still is considered a woman-oriented film. I would like her to do one COMMERCIAL film again with at least a Khan, Hrithik, or even Akshay!

Well , I don't mind women oriented movies of hers.. Kahaani too looks promising.. Commercial movies? I can't really see her doing a Bimbo/wallflower role but if its a substantial meaty role..Y not..

if she gets movies like Kat do.. she will still pull it off very well..

and even show some more then they expected..

in my view she can do it better then PC too..

You know I'm kinda confused..just because Vidya's movies are more women-oriented and theme-based, it doesn't necessarily mean they're not commercial cinema right?

I mean I think TDP is a very commercial film with very maaseladaar dialogues, story..choreographed songs even if it's women-oriented. I'd even say NOKJ is a semi-commercial film--it's a drametization of the real case of Jessical Bal..I'd probably say Ishqiya is her only film that is completely non-commercial.

So I guess my question is what really is commercial cinema? Does doing commercial cinema mean Vidya has to do flowerpot roles like Kareena/Katrina/Priyanka? Or is comedy/roles like "Geet" the only form of commercial cinema there is? Why can't performance-oriented role be part of a commercial film like TDP?

She was pretty decent in Munnabhai... She did get a lot of flak for KC and Hey baby... In a recent interview she said she won't do any more movies like those were she wasn't very convincing...

And i think the audience too expects her to do movies of a certain genre...

Well she can like bhool bhuliaya and all , she was good in them and fit in character but she needs to stay realistic, she is not hot and sexy like kat or bebo and she shouldnt try hard to be that in commercial films like she did in KK or hey baby coz that was truly a disaster!! and commercial doesnt mean to shed clothes always as clearly she has done that in TDP too and that wasnt really commercial!

all im saying is, an actor has no boundaries, she aint no katrina who has to limited to commercial cinema only, she can do it all, just dont go over board in trying to look something else which she certainly cant like she did in KK, that was horrible!!

It's high time we stop dividing movies into commercial vs. art.
If we are going by promotion, gross and intended audience, then The Dirty Pictures, Paa, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Parineeta all fall under the label of what we call commercial flicks.

If you meant to ask if she can do a candy-floss role like running around the tree or a glamorous role like that in Hey Baby, then from what I've seen of her, no.

Vidya is extremely limited in what she can do. Her looks, her image, her age all play a part in it.

She plays the seductress ( Parineeta, Ishqiya, TDP) really well. Thats her forte. Other than that she can play the deglam sari clad indian woman.

She can't do comedy and she's plain average in light romatic movies. Due to which she'll quite possibly never work with the 3 Khans except maybe Aamir. Hrithik and her will just look plain weird. Imran and Ranbir are out of the question as well. So will she be part of the Big commercial set up. Not likely.
