It was 6:30 and Gopi expected Ahem to be home any minute. He had promised. She decided to go ahead and make his tea. This way she could take his tea when he comes in. And right on time the doorbell rang and Rashi opened the door and Gopi could hear the greetings. Rashi rushed into the kitchen and said I am going to make tea for everyone. Gopi said go ahead, I just made black tea for Ahemji and I am going to go and give it to him. Rashi looked on as Gopi was leaving the kitchen and wondered what has gotten into her. Rashi shrugged it off and went on to make the tea. She liked that Gopi didn't do it, as it was her time to show off and become the better DIL of the Modi parivaar. And with a smile she went on to suck up to the family.
When Gopi left the kitchen with the tea, she didn't care about the tea for the family. Her mind was only on her Ahemji. She wanted to spend every waking moment with him. She knew in this house it would not be possible, but right now taking his tea is the perfect excuse to go and see him and enjoy his company. She had to admit having Ahemji be so nice to her was really nice. She liked that he had taken her to eat kulfi and on top of that the rose...OMG, she was on cloud nine. When she walked into the room she heard him in the bathroom and was a little disappointed. Now she would have to make some kind of an excuse to stay on in the room. She decided to act like she needed something from the almari. She heard him grunt in the bathroom and wondered if she should go and ask is everything is ok. But before she could say anything he walked out and they both ended up looking at each other. Gopi was in heaven.
At the office Ahem tried to concentrate on his work, but all day his mind kept going back to Gopi and how much he was enjoying all the time he got to spend with her. And when it was time to come home, he almost jumped off his seat and ran out the door. He had to take a calming breath, so as not to get the employees talking about his odd behavior. When he came home he did not see the vision he was looking for, so he excused himself to go change hoping she was in the room already. But when he was going towards the stairs his eyes caught her in the kitchen. She was making tea for him. He was happy. He wanted to go and change before she came in the room. He wanted her there. For what he didn't know. All he knew was he wanted to be in the same room as her. He heard her walking into the room and started to rush thru his changing of clothes. In the process he was making mistakes and that was taking him longer than usual. He grunted loud out of frustration...Finally he had changed and went outside...hoping against all hope she was still there.
Gopi pointed to the tea cup and said I have your tea set up here. Please have it before it gets cold. Gopi was fidgeting and was trying to say something to carry the conversation longer and was failing miserably. Ahem could see this and he realized she wanted to be there with him as much as he wanted her. And she was trying to find an excuse to stay around. So he helped. He asked her how was your day? She was shocked at first but seeing his smile she also smiled and said it was fine. Ahem thought this is silly and said Gopi, why don't you sit and talk to me while I drink my tea. Gopi could have jumped for joy, but instead, nodded and sat down. Ahem came and sat at the seat next to her. He took his tea and drank it. They both looked at each other for what seemed like a long time. They were brought back by Meethi knocking on the door. When Ahem asked what she wanted Meethi said Nani Bhabhi is looking for Gopi and wants her downstairs. Gopi looked all sad but said I am coming in a minute. Meethi left and Gopi and Ahem looked at each other. When Gopi was about to leave Ahem said Gopi take this tea cup, I am done. Gopi went near him to get the tea cup and tripped when her foot hit the table.
Ahem's quick reaction saved Gopi from any harm. Ahem grabbed Gopi from around the waist and pulled her to him. For a moment they both stood still, realizing that they were locked in a hug. Ahem slowly came around and felt warm and fuzzy. He liked the hug. He wanted to hold her forever. Gopi's heart was beating a million beats a minute. She was nervous and scared of what Ahemji would say or do. But to her surprise he tightened his hug on her. She was speechless. She slowly put her arms around his waist and hugged him back. Ahem thought he had died and gone to heaven. This felt too good and too comfortable to let go. But his mom had called Gopi and if Gopi didn't show up his mom would walk in on them and catch them like this. Ahem didn't care if the world saw them like this. But he preferred to keep such things private. And so he patted Gopi lightly on her back and whispered Gopi you go or Mom will come looking for you. Gopi who had her eyes closed and was enjoying the moment, opened her eyes and was about to run out of there when Ahem held on to her and said I was really enjoying that hug. If Mom wasn't calling you I wouldn't have let go. Gopi blushed and said me too. Ahem then squeezed her one last time and reluctantly released her. Gopi also didn't want to go but left with the tea cup. Gopi thought she was walking on the clouds and had to come down before Maji started to ask questions.
Ahem watched Gopi leave and had a huge smile on his face. Wow that was one welcome that he hoped would continue. He couldn't believe how good it felt to hold Gopi. And when she hugged him back was the icing on the cake. He felt like he was floating on the clouds as well.
Downstairs Gopi and Koki were getting all the food to the table while the other MIL/DIL duo were setting the table and putting the food on the plates. When Ahem came downstairs she had a brief eye lock with her Ahemji and they both had a knowing smile of how happy they both felt. Gopi went around the table to serve Her in-laws and Ahemji. When she was standing near Ahemji and serving she felt his hand touch her leg and caress it. At first she thought she had imagined it, until she saw the smirk on his face. She felt shy but had to look normal or Maji would know something was going on. Koki instructed Gopi to sit down and eat as well. Gopi got to sit next to Ahemji and knew she was going to be tested big time. When she sat down, immediately she felt Ahemji's leg touch her and his hands were on her leg. She was starting to think she would melt right there and then, but nothing like that happened. She looked around the table and everyone was either engrossed in a conversion or were busy eating to notice her and Ahem. She turned to Ahem and smiled a sweet smile. The smile must have done something to him because he squeezed her leg more. With all the strength she could muster she ate and waited for him to leave the table before they were found out.
After the dinner was over Ahem and his kaka went into the study to catch up on some work. Gopi and Rashi went into the kitchen to finish cleaning. Koki and Hetal helped by doing all the other work. Gopi wandered what would happen when she went into the room. Ahem on the other hand was enjoying the feel of his wife and how he made her react to his touches. He wished the dinner had lasted longer than it had. But at the same time he knew he had her all night to do whatever. He didn't know what. But he knew he needed to feel her some more. He had to fill his kaka in on his meeting this morning and then he could go to his room with his wife in it. He rushed thru the materials and when he was done he left. When he entered the room, Gopi had already changed and was at the dresser taking out her jewelry. He was amazed how she could look so beautiful without any make-up or jewelry. And on top of that she was wearing his favorite color...green.
When Ahem came in Gopi jumped up and faced him. For a moment they both stood there staring at each other. Then Ahem turned around and locked the door and went to Gopi. She swore she thought she was melting by hiim coming closer to her. And when he reached her he put his finger under her chin and made her look at him. And when they were in a eye lock again Ahem spoke up...Gopi I am very impressed. At the table you didn't show any signs of shyness from my touching you. Gopi couldn't hold any more and went into his arms and said you almost melted me like butter. Ahemji I like it so much when you touch me. I am not sure though if you are doing this out of love or just something to do. Ahem hugged her tighter and said no Gopi, I was also enjoying it as much as you. My feelings for you have changed Gopi and now I look forward to coming home after a hard days work to see you again. And if I got to hug you everyday like today then I would be even happier. They held each other for a while and then Ahem led them to the bed and said I want to ask you something Gopi. Gopi said what? Ahem said I want us to be like a real husband and wife, Gopi. But I want us to take our time with each other. I want to know all about you. You already know everything about me. So I was wondering if maybe if it is ok with you if we could at least sleep on this bed together? Ahem waited eagerly for an answer and was floored by the response she gave. Gopi said I have been wanting to share the bed with you always. And if you and I were to start sharing it then it would be the best thing in the world. And Ahemji I also want to take things slow. I don't want to make you feel obligated towards me. Ahem went closer to Gopi and hugged her again and said that would never happen as he wants her as much as she wants him. And then they went to bed. While they were lying down Ahem said Gopi, come here. And when Gopi went near him, Ahem held her to him and said I want to sleep like this with you. This way I know I always have you near me. Gopi smiled and hugged her Ahemji tight giving him the answer. And from that night on they held each other every night...
The next day during the puja when Koki and parag were doing the aarti, Gopi felt her Ahemji grab her hands. She looked around and saw everyone had their eyes closed. She looked at him and smiled and squeezed his hand as well. They held on to each other till Koki turned around and asked them to go and perform the aarti. When they went to the temple Ahem grabbed the thali with Gopi's hand and that is how they did the aarti from that day onwards😃
