We don't know how Anjali ended up with the snake Shyam. As far as Khushi goes, he stalked her and followed her from Lucknow to Delhi and was a fraud. He acted like he had no family and became a PG at her aunt's house. He went back and forth between both homes, fooling everyone. Khushi's father started getting suspicious, followed him and found out about Anjali. Unfortunately, the snake held back her dad's meds and he had a heart attack and subsequent stroke and couldn't talk. Buaji forced Khushi into engagement with Shyam even though we knew Khushi didn't love him, but loved Arnav. Khushi later started to put two and two together, found out his truth, but foolishly decided not to say anything for the sake of her sister's marriage and Anjali.
