Well An ... I got this idea becos right from the beginning of the story Mohan is portrayed as hell-bent on exposing DN. Here, I'm presuming, that Mohan has some very good reason for believing that DN is corrupt. ( which I hope the CVs will reveal later 😆)

And a good crime reporter is one who recognizes that something is fishy even when there's evidence to the contrary staring at his face.

So, logically the next thing for Mohan to do is dig deeper and see who's hiding behind Amar and how.

You're right, a second contrary report will tarnish a reporter's credibility, but then it also gives a sensational angle to the case which no one explored before !

And newspapers thrive on sensationalism ... most of the time !!!
