purab’s exit...this is what happened !

As per someone my brother knows at setindia this is what actually happened. actually my brother was travelling and thankfully he returned 2 days back . So i asked him to get in touch with this person he knows at a personal level at sony (and this guy is quite well placed there) to find out what actually happened. So here it is:

If u all remember, around the time engagement of jassi and purab was announced, suddenly one day they showed armaan having been reformed and we were all left wondering as to what happened because just some time back he was plotting jassi's downfall...he had even said 'mein jassi ko aisa sabak sikhaunga ki woh pachis/chalis janam tak yaad rakhigi or something to this effect. The sudden, almost overnight change happenend because apparantly around that time sony received a communication/warning from BLF that they were deviating from the plot and that was not acceptable to them etc.

After this they tried to convince the makers of BLF to let them change the end but were not able to get the permission. Hence the poll and teh sudden change in the storyline. they had to change everything drastically....like turning armaan good and immediately sowing the seeds of jassi-purab split because the show was scheduled to end in Feb/first week of march....just over the next 3 months and not much time was left plus they had got the warning from BLF to come back on the original track fast.

samir always knew that his track was time bound and had no problem with it. his only concern was that his exit should be dignified and that purab's character shld not be turned negative. this he had made clear in the beginning itself when his track was being extended.

But the channel/ makers felt that showing him sacrificing for the sake of jassi's happiness wld make him the martyr and jassi-armaan ending up togther wld not be justifiable to the audiences considering alraedy armaan had been shown to be too negative and purab as the ideal person for jassi.

hence they proposed that to make jassi and armaan ending up together justifiable and acceptable, it was necessary that purab is not shown as sacrificing for jassi. rather purab be shown as dumping jassi and leaving her high and dry. this way audiences will start rooting for armaan when they start showing him supporting jassi in thsi crisis and wld not grudge their ending up together

but according to samir, purab dumping jassi for the reasons shown wld be completely against purab's characterization so far....class, society etc never ever mattered to purab....it was like turning the character negative without any justification and wld not really gel with the portrayal of the character so far (he had earlier stated in an interview that he did not mind being turned negative in shows provided justification is there).

samir was completely fine with teh character's exit at this stage...but not with a negative twist having been given to the character suddenly....but the channel did not relent and stuck with the proposed exit....and things somehow cld not be sorted out thereafter....

so let's stop this blame game....most of us knew that purab and jassi may not end up together but none of us wld have wanted purab's character to be suddenly turned negative.....samir was right in thinking that the exit of the character cld be planned even without turning him negative.

And also ...relax everyone...exit from a show cannot jeopradize someone's career......it is the future body of work that matters......

also, no one did anyone any favour here.....it is wrong to say that sony did a favour to SS or vice versa....ppl work together because it mutually suits them/is beneficial to them.......it is pure business....

and let's stop these vicious attacks on ppl.....it is just a matter of perception as to who is right and who is not in any given situation...

but i guess armaan fans have been so upset at the way his character was butchered in the past that they will leave no opportunity to attack SS/Purab....he was not the who who made armaan negative or sideliend him....it was the makers decision to do so...but still it is quite sad that ppl take out their anger and frustration on him...i find that quite juvenile and ridiculous........it was the MAKERS decision to deviate from the original and not his......there is no need to attack him personally as has been happeneing in the past six months...

its really good that samir left the show.and the way he left is also good. bcoz if he would hve sacrificed jassi all the purab fans will feel sad.turning him negative will be really bad.so it will be very nice if jassi will end up with armaan.

but sad about mallika. raj is there for mallika😉.even raj has gone somewhere(in search of arundhathi). will nandu end up with pari??

i knew something of this sort wld have happened.

in fact i had written to someone at setindia abt a week back...asking them if they cld end up jassi and purab together....they said it was not in their hands....as the original had a diff end and this was an adaptation

whoever jassi marries i dont care lekin purab to is show se chala gaya. i will surely miss him. his role was the best. surely all purab fans will miss him a lot.

don't care what u thought....ppl were going by what was being SHOWN....it is very clear that the channel and the makers wished to deviate but cld not because they were not allowed to...maybe even they thought they wld be able to convince them since so much deviation had alraedy been allowed.....

Thanks for clearing this matter Ananyaa. In my opinion the only ppl to blame here are the Directors with their so-called creativity.

The knew very well from the start what the conditions were, but they are the ones who decided to make a complete mess out of everything. Who told them in the first place to change the plot from the original track ????

In this way they have disappointed both Armaan & Purab fans by changing their characters out of the blue.

In my opinion ,the Directors have cheated, so pls stop putting the blame on someone else's plate.
