( and I thought no one could beat Anjali in the slow-mind game ).
Saving grace for her "character", if not for her, she realised she needed to TELL Arnav something about Shyam.
( yes, that is the height of distress that the girl can imagine and YET she says " ab to humein choti choti baaton se bhi darr lagta hain". 😕 How much more trivial something needs to be to scare her these days ?? Oh, right, not being able to see Aakash at the very moment ).
The girl exasperates me. I even like Anjali better than her. At least Anjali can see people beyond herself.
Arnav - "Naahi aapko jaane doonga, na us Khushi Kumari Gupta ko".
No matter what Arnav does after this, his character effectively died for me today. Leave it to the CVs to destroy a character that had so smoothly grown through its life-curve.
Today I am not going to buy the "work hard" argument. They could very well think about a sane sequence in the exact time that they used to think out this insane sequence.
The man didn't spare a single thought for Khushi. Fine, his Di's world was crumbling.
BUT
If he remembered the day when Khushi first met Shyam in the Raizada Mansion so awkwardly, how could he not remember the moment before when she cried and then the umpteen moments when she spoke about hurt and betrayal from her fiance?? A normal thought process would definitely follow this way.
He didn't leave any scope for "MIS UNDERSTANDING". There was no effort to UNDERSTAND at all.
All her innocence etc...that we claimed he loved - where did that sense disappear? was it after all "LUST"?
( Even before he decided to propose to her, He remembered moments when she looked "BEAUTIFUL" outside, not inside )
It was as if, he had discovered after that "red saree" clad calendar shoot that this is the girl who is making his Jeejaji cheat on his Di.
That the character has fallen so much is evident from the fact that smartest person today turned out to be
Shyam - " Ab aapne dekh hi liya hain to kya kar sakte hain. Mana to nahi kar sakte aur karnge bhi nahin."
Even with the ridiculousness of how cool Shyam acted after seeing Anjali alive and after being confronted by Arnav, this to me stood out to be the only sane line of the day.
Now, we will all be given the candy that we all wanted - THE Marriage and all insanity will start looking SANITY personified.
