Excerpts from a chat with her: Amrita makes more news being with parties and with boyfriend Usman. What's on the front with films? You've every reason to complain because I didn't have a release in quite sometime. I would just tell you to hold some more patience. I've some good films coming up. 'Red' will be my next release and there will be a long list of film following it. Do you believe that promoting yourself is equally important as doing hard work? You've to have a right balance of both. Publicity is a part and parcel of a celebrity life and you make news without wanting it or not. As long as you are written good there's no problem basically. Again there are many people in the industry who prefer keeping to themselves and only speaking about their work. But they get publicity differently.
I never want to be talked about. I've never wanted publicity for myself. But I am a known face and this is where the problem lies. People ask to me about so many things and I oblige to the best of my efforts. You can say me to be media friendly than publicity hungry. But such attitude of yours is often misinterpreted? All my good friends in the media know that I don't crave for publicity and they know me well to assume something such. If I can't handle too much media exposure I prefer being seditious for some time. But there is no reason to hide from the media. Neither you can have faith on them as they are like two-edged sword who write good, bad and ugly about you. But again they are the only platform through which we can reach everybody. How do you find the comparisons between you and sister Malaika Arora? There is nothing I can say about it but I wish we both are not compared because we are very different from each other. Comparison is not what anybody seeks. It sometimes bogs me but I take it positively. I prefer being compared to her than any one else.
She has a great sex appeal. But I too have mine and I'm comfortable with it. I love her wardrobe too and it's very tempting. It has a fabulous line up of trendy wears. She has the best-fit denims and I flick on them. From her tops, shoes and bags I love everything. She has stuck to her modeling image while you swayed to acting. Do you regret the decision? Why should I? I love movies and everything about films and Bollywood. It's a kind of high and thrilling for me to go to the sets, wear make up and get ready for the shot. I'm so used to it now that I can't imagine life without that. Modeling and VJ-ing just came through but I was always pinning for films. |
