Dabangg 2 Shatters Record. Right sold for 140 crore.

Dabangg 2 has broken all time records by a huge margin. It is rumoured Dabangg 2 rights has been sold to UTV motion pictures for an astounding 140 crores (never heard). What is interesting music rights are not included in it. It is even more astonishing as not a single shot is shoot for Dabangg 2. Dabangg 2 has broken the earlier records of Ra.One (100 crore) and Talaash (90 crore) rights.

Dabangg 2 is one of the most anticipated releases of the year, and when it went under the hammer, the trade was naturally agog. Everyone had one question - Who would bag the rights of Dabangg 2, and for how much? Practically every production house had queued up to bid for this film, featuring Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha.

Finally, UTV Motion Pictures emerged the winner, creating a record. The figure: a staggering Rs 140 crore for all the rights, except the music rights. This is the highest ever acquisition price in the history of the Hindi film industry. Competitors like Reliance Entertainment and Fox Star Studios were also in the running and are said to have offered Rs 115 crore and Rs 105 crore, respectively, for the sequel to the 2010 action comedy.

However for the time being Siddharth Roy Kapur, CEO, UTV Motion Pictures, & Director Arbaaz Khan did not comment anything on this matter.

wow thats a lot...! lets see what the film has to offer,
i find it interesting how the media was quick to report "Aamir Khan's 'Talaash' beats Shahrukh Khan's 'Don 2'!?" when in this article it says ra one was sold for 100 crore...shahrukh seems to be the point of comparison for everything...

Stupid Article.

Don't believe it.

First why would they pay 140 Cr when 110-115 Cr would do the job.

Second, where does the writer get this kinda inside financial information.

Insane. If true then the Khan bros are already raking in profit...before they've even shot anything for the movie!
