Let us compare 2 serials which have been aired on Sony...Both have been made by Tony and Deeya Singh...Just Mohabbat (JM) and Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin (JJKN)

Interesting points to note:

Protagonists - both have names beginning with "J" ... Jassi (JJKN) and Jai (JM)

The Beginning - Interesting starts. Both had unique ideas. JM was based on the life of an 11 year old boy named Jai and his life while JJKN was based on the life of an ordinary middle-class girl named Jassi. There was a gradual upward trend in both serials.

Peak - the high point in the serial...a point when the audience actually empathized with both characters...Jai's reactions to his parents struggling with an impending divorce and Jassi struggling to be more assertive.

The Love Triangle - Jump 7 years ahead in JM - Jai turns 18. Jassi physically turns 1 year older and mentally 20 years younger. Jai has a psycho girlfriend (Saloni) and a good friend to choose from whereas Jassi has her casanova boss (Armaan) and a good friend (Purab) to choose from.

Love Triangle ---> Other characters sidelined---> Gradual Downturn

Undignified exits/disappearances - Saloni vanishes from JM, Purab disappears from JJKN

Lastly - only the most loyal viewers watch the serial. The rest care less about what happens to the protagonist.

Moral of the Analysis - Do not have great expectations from not-so-great directors.

This is the bane of Jassi. Purab should never have been given so much milege.

Oh oh..... so Purab was a case of faulty engine which started with a zing but then suddenly sputtered and died down without any reason...

So now we are back to the our original dhakka maro engine which starts late but turns out to be the more dependable one...😉

Actually I've given my brain cells plenty of respite. I stopped watching JJKN a couple of weeks ago...like I had stopped watching Just Mohabbat😉

No more listening to Jassi's whiny Holier-than-thou speeches...Sigh!😊
