Music is prior, not Urvashi – Sandeep

Music director Sandeep Chowta seems excited. It you're assuming it is due to his link up with TV star Urvashi Dholakia, you're wrong. He is thrilled about his next masterwork, his album which he exclaims, "It's massive, just huge!" He is producing the album, which is still at budding stage and considers it as a 'high point' of his life. The album reads big names like Spyro Gyra, Virgil Donati, Frank Gambale from the Chick Correa Electric Band, Bunny Brunel, Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Patrice Rushen a jazz pianist who has played with Santana, the Dagar brothers and Master Salim. This album will bring them together and they will record music orchestrated by Chowta.

"It's something really major happening to our music. Internationally, they love Indian voices. But Indian musicians need the right platform to go international. I'm not a deejay throwing samples of music from east and west together. It's a new sound — something you'll want to keep forever," he says. He is also excited about collaborating with singer TataYoung for her new English album.

He is absolutely awed by this music album that he has started working on recently and adds that there is nothing serious going between him and Urvashi. "We're friends. One newspaper starts something and everyone talks about it. We do go out, but going on one date doesn't decide everything. When it's on, I'll say it's on. If I deny it, it still sounds like something's on, so I just let it go. Everyone has to have friends - it's better than sitting in a studio for 24 hours. Someone sees you, says you're together and everyone picks it up. Finally, it will all die down!" says the eligible bachelor. In the same vein he also clarifies that he gets stretched into unnecessary controversies and cites the example of his album 'Mallika, I hate you' which people assumed to be on Bollywood sex siren Mallika, but actually it wasn't.
