This question has been hovering in my mind since that western classical concert fiasco.

So guys tell me do you agree with me when I sat that they are portraying the youth as shallow?

Or am I wrong?

Is the youth only interesting in having a good time?
Do they only like to have pasta?

Are they only interested in discs and pates?

Do they absolutely dont understand classical music? I mean atleast everyone would know that jaywanti has something to do with Indian classical and not western.

And do you think voilin has anything to do with age? Its about taste is it not. A young person may also like it?

Same is the case with Pasta.

In metros you will find many 35+ going to discs and eating pasta because that is the age when a high income starts comming in

And these things depend on personal nature also

Well I felt that they are showing as if the youth are only interested in having a good time. (And am not talking of teens, I am talking of 25 years)

So guys give me your opinion

Yes agree.. not only are they potraying the youth as shallow...they r potraying them as a bunch of 'aimless' 'directionless' souls who have nothing better to do than while away their time.. sleeping..eating noodles or meeting up their b.fs ...

i m 27 .. n seriously.. m disappointed with this kind of potrayal..

on one side our PM claim that indias power is its youth.. n we hv a daily soap where the youth does everything except anything substantial.. impactful.. creative or effective..!!

n the credit goes to Shri KP ... the guy who wrote (apparently) the youth cult Rang De Basanti ...has no idea what youth are...

SAD indeed..

24 ..the age when career, aim for life ,a objective and decisions took a front seat and rest everything a back seat...enjoyed life to the fullest but earned that fun to have fun... respected our elders but lived our lives...partied away but worked hard and harder...loved pizza, burger pasta...but home made food give us a sound sleep...know the difference between right and wrong and never stand for wrong ...known to speak their mind never to back off ...a passion to create a niche ,a passion to embrace life and a passion to love...that is what young generation means,,,,,,

i have been crying hoarse from months abt KP's shalllow portrayal of today's gen...the guy wrote the cult RDB or did he????how can youth be so different there and here...

extremely disappointed...the way he has mocked the young generation

Exactly 24 is an age where people start thinking about earning mpney. Where career becomes important. I can understand at 19 young students living day to day and not thinking anything more than having fun.

But not at 24

On what basis does DB want to marry Nidhi to Rohan?

What does Rohan do for a living?

Rohan's character has been made too teenager kinds. Shouldnt he think about a career?

And Nidhi? Shouldnt she think of doing an intern ship somewhere?

even i din't like the idea or the thinking of the "youth"is being portrayed in KTLK...

as tanu aptly pointed out...they say "YOUNG INDIA"...youth is the power...

in KTLK they r drifting away from real essence of the charecters...Nidhi as young doc...can do wonders as an experienced and matured doc like Ashu wud do...fr the past few days thay r only focussing on Nidhi can't think or do as the 40+.doc.can do ..👎🏼.
they r only highlighting the differences that r bc of age gap...its absolutely rubbish yaarrr...whatever the age may be the compatibility factor is imp...they shd show inspite of age gap hw they gel with each other doing their duties...

few days back MB hd pointed out on FB that keeping the love factor in mind the KTLK team shd hv focussed on the story in the back round of hospital activities...

thats wht we r shputing from the tpo of the roof that bring back Dr. Nidhi to Kotnis...and show that an young doc can do wonders by which Dr. Ashu can be proud off!!!😊...and this way their love can be blossommed and hw they grow each other personally as well as proffessionally...

Nandini your right ,the potrayal of youth on the show is more negetive rather than positive...

Nidhi should think about her internship and so should rohan ,they potray him as a jobless guy... but im happy that atleast anji is shown as a responsible one ..
I personally disagree with the potrayal of youth enjoying things only like disc, party's,pasta etc in the show ...howmuch ever they enjoy such things so do they admire classics and the music of old legends...and No matter how much they crave eating junk ,they finally do love eating simple dal roti suzi...

I will not point a finger only towards KP...nope all writers are doing it...especially when it come to youth raised in a other country (NRI's)...then not only the youth is aimless and living off parents back...nope they don't have any manners, nor knowledge for any Indian culture and religion...

Well...yes I do with your point... Youth are definitely shown as one with less minded and kiddish...whats wrong in having pasta or loving rocking music... and also when we have so many examples where youth have proved to be so strong!

The problem with the writer is that YOUTH has become the latest fall guy for everything...here in the 21st century we find the youth r so focused and know what they want for future and in our soaps the youth r portrayed so badly and if anything goes wrong it is blamed on their age...as if mature people don't make mistakes...

Am not young...am the same age as Ashu , but i am so so young at heart...i have seen young people who r so mature for their age i am shocked and equally have seen so called mature people behaving worse than kids...
The writers r seriously out of touch with the ground reality !!! 😒

Nice post.

I have been having a problem with everybody so i don't know where to start.

For the differences between Ashutosh and Nidhi to be showcased and tackled, the writers have to first understand and clear their minds as to what their characters have to be.

There used to be a landmark serial called "Astitva- Ek prem kahaani" which had also tackled this same relationship but in reverse, a lady doctor as old as Dr. ashutosh and a much younger guy.

It is all in the writer's mind which is lost somewhere in the pasta and the chai with the violin in the background.

he is unable to decide the exact age of the characters, Dr. Ashutosh, Nidhi ( I refuse to call her Dr. Nidhi), Anji, Rohan, Mallika...

They need to make each characters biodata and then start from there as the starting point. Till then i don't see any hope for my cribbing.

Otherwise next high point of the serial will be Mallika serving milk to Dr. Ashutosh for his acidity and juice to Nidhi for her growth to showcase their age difference. 😛

Sorry, rambled as usual though i had decided i would not post as it is just not worth it. But your post just made me write something.

Going back to stalking mode. 😆
