Ohh no... I was really impressed...I said that already ... ofcourse I know that you can google lyrics...its just that I always had this notion that when these songs play in these bollywood parties etc, people just like the rhythm and not really focus.

Your misconstruing my tone or intent is not unusual... this forum is full of one person meaning to write something , and being interpreted in some other way altogether, so not an issue at all.
"Objectification of women" ...hmmm ...well thats not anything recent is it? That's been there since the days of Ajanta Ellora ... one can call it art, another can call it "Objectification of women" ...The entire bollywood fraternity is about this ... actually I would say things are changing a bit.
Item numbers: Its not just today - 70's : Husn ke laakh rang, 90's = sarkaliyo khatiya jada lage, and now Sheila Ki Jawani
My point is this : There is no use being uptight about this issue, its the way it is and has been since always. And most adults/ families have come to accept them for what they are ...just a bunch of provocative moves to get the masses to cover the theatre fixed costs.
But TV is a little different , specific channels are targetted to very specific audience segments...so anything that happens here cannot be a one-shot and get on with it ... you ll be suprised how much wrath( if things are amiss) women can exude in the focus group discussions that the channels conduct monthly to get qualitative feedback on different shows and genres. Which is why I would say lip locks unless shot extremely aesthetically can create a deluge of wrath.
And yes ...completely completely agree that these songs should always be a complete no no for kids. Parental control is certainly required.

Like I said, I have no issues with item numbers, if consumed among adults who understand whats real and whats not. I am talking about hypocrisy. Whereas people have no issues consuming chikni chamelis as standard fare, they unleash their wrath on a liplock shown between two loving adults.

SP shows chikni chameli promotions galore for agneepath as filler between shows, yet, i dont see these very aunties and uncles and so called vigilantes raising shit about that. But, show a liplock as pure as a matter of love between two adults and all hell breaks loose.

The issue of objectification of women is my personal, i dont impose that on anyone. I just think of it this way, if i cannot foresee my daughter do such a thing in public, i don't feel good watching someone else's daughter do it. however, i do not force that moral on others, they are welcome to follow their own sensibilities nor do i judge others if they enjoy the songs. but lets not be hypocritical about it. if chikni chamelis are acceptable to show on SP channel (and during prime time too), then its ok to show liplocks.
