Shiva always had His Third Eye from the beginning??? If so shouldn't it be shown (closed)?

opening of sivas third eye indicates end of the world--pralayam. when sati commits suicide siva will throw his hair locks (jatajutam) to the ground from which veerabadhra and rudrakali are born. from the ashes of sati badhrakali is born (as sati jumped into the sacrificial fire she turned into ashes) all the three will kill daksha and his followers. story goes on ... satya

The most popular legend behind Lord Shiva's third eye goes like this -

Once, while Shiva sat rapt in meditation, his consort, Parvati, came up from behind and in a moment of zest, playfully closed both his eyes with the palms of her hands. Soon as she had done so, the whole world was plunged into darkness and ominous turmoil. To prevent the impending catastrophe, there immediately sprung from Shiva's forehead a fiery third eye, and thus the world was saved from the inevitable disaster which would have followed.

never knew this story. there are so many different versions and legends tht it gets hard for us humans!

The third eye comes about much later..

According to scripts from Mahabharatha, the legend of how Mahadev got the third eye is narrated this way:

One day Parvati, stealthily went behind Shiva and playfully placed her hands over his eyes. Suddenly darkness engulfed the world, as a result of which a massively strong flame came out of Mahadev's forehead and ther appeared the third eye that gave the light to the world. It is basically described as the source of energy which is millions times the energy of the entire universe together.
