I studied and learned the household chores I don't see why you can't do both and it a good way to start balancing your life skills for example work and homelife. Mum made sure I could cook in my teens and it came really useful when I went off to uni living away from home. Personally I think it made it easier that I learned the household stuff along with the education.

My aunt who was so into education and then work quit to have a family life now actually struggles to cook and feeds her daughter junk food because it convenient.

Where as Sandhya is concerned ok so she didn't learn in from her parents, but atleast she is willing to learn and she wants to learn. Bhabo should atleast appreciate this and it gives bhabo the chance to train Sandhya the way she wants the household chores to be done and Sandhya not being able to compare how she done them at her parents home.

I have one aunt who never learned household chores and refused to learn when she got married and now she struggles and another aunt who knows how to do it but is too lazy and thinks she knows everything. Bhabo is lucky with Sandhya she can mould her

Well, I believe everyone (girls and guys) ought to learn some basic household work (including basic cooking) alongwith education. One must not have to depend on anyone else to look after you, your stomach or your house. If education or some other circumstance make it difficult to learn basic household work, then its ok and one can learn them later in life. But in normal scenario, one can learn little things like making tea, cooking basic things, cleaning up kitchen, house, clothes etc. alongwith usual education. So, yes, ideally Sandhya should know some household work but her ignorance is not that big a deal because she has that determination and intention to learn now! This fire and commitment is the most crucial ingredient.

I dont like blaming parents for child's lapses. After a certain age, an offspring is more or less independent and is responsible for him or her self. Sandhya is doing well in terms of trying to learn household work in order to become a good Bahu but it takes a little time, and Bhabho needs to have some patience and understanding.

I am also a student and I am learning cooking in holidays and weekends sometimes. I know studying is really hard but I think its nice to learn something else besides studies.

I cannot blame the parents fully as maybe Sandhya was not interested in cooking. Maybe her mom tried but Sandhya did not like it or maybe she needed a good teacher like Suraj 😉
I don't know why in this serial they assume that studious girls cannot cook. I know many people (girls and boys) who are very well educated and can cook well also.
