I was thinking why mohan countered guru when guru mentions megha as larki and said "do bacchon ki maa ko ladki nahi aurat kehete hai"

was that because he means she should be mature enough to handle these things or was it just just to counter/sidestep what guru was telling?

It was mainly to counter Guru's argument...cuz Guru used the word LADKI to say that Mohan is never able to bear a girl in tears, so Mohan played on words there and said that Megha is a WOMAN, not a GIRL so the usual can't be applied to her😆

Yes this seems to be pretty rational analysis. you added one more dimension to it.

I agree with the assessment that Mohan was just trying to get out of helping Megha and stopping Guru from emotionally blackmailing him. However, I can't help to notice a subtle message that the drama is trying to send. If you notice, all the females in Mohan's life so far has mentioned as girls. For example the girl he is trying to get information out off. He almost seems to view them all as a game or a problem. Megha is probably the first he refers to as a woman, because she is the only female he has met that is his match. Being a guy myself, there is this whole matter of difference between a man and a boy. No guy likes to referred to as boy as it implies a more immature tone. In the same way, most women like men not boys. Similarly, maybe the directors are trying to imply that Mohan likes Megha or views her worthy of such a title. I hope my assessment makes sense.
