Korag Chapter 4...
It has been five days since the confrontation that had taken place at the Modi Bhavan. Koki was not sure what was going to happen as tomorrow Parag is supposed to be back home from his Poetry convention in Mumbai. The children would expect him home. Koki knew she would have to live with Parag like a happily married woman and not show any signs of stress. She had very quietly moved all of Parag's things into the guest room. She had to stay in the their original bedroom as that is where Ahem and Jigar would always come to wish her goodnight. She did not know what she was going to do with this Mangla. Koki had always been a good judge of character and as soon as she met Mangla she knew this woman was with Parag for her own benefit. Though Koki didn't know what she was getting out of it, she did know it wasn't love or for that matter companionship. Koki would make sure she would prevent Mangla from ruining her family. And if needed save that stupid husband of hers. Parag was probably too stupid to realize he was with a very cunning woman. Koki smiled to herself thinking she may be cunning but she has not come across Kokila Parag Modi. And KPM is not one to sit idly by and watch her family get ruined by some dimwitted woman...A woman in this case named Mangla. When she married Parag she knew he lived in a dream world of his own...but to think he would step out on her never crossed her mind. But it does not matter now. KPM knew she would have to win over Parag's trust and make sure if ever this Mangla woman tried to outsmart Parag, Koki would know about it first hand. And she needed to start by making sure Parag always considered her a friend. Now all of a sudden after much thought Koki had a plan and she was sure Parag would be hers once again. Parag is going to have to work his ass off to gain her forgiveness. But that would have to be put on hold till this Mangla is dealt with. Tomorrow after Parag comes home Koki is going to go and visit Mangla and have a little heart to heart. Woman to woman. A cunning woman against a defiant woman...
Koki makes a few phone calls and goes about her daily routine.
Parag came home and Koki told Parag in front of the family she will continue to live under the same roof as Parag so the children will not suffer. And life will go on as it has been till now with one exception...Now everyone knows Parag's secret. After the lunch was over and Parag had retired to his room, Koki told Mota Bhabhi I need to go see a friend who had called earlier this morning. Mota Bhabhi said go and don't worry about here...I will take care of everything. With that Koki left and was a little apprehensive about lying to Mota Bhabhi. But it was for the greater good. Koki got in the car and told the driver to take her to the home where he had taken Chirag bhai last week. Koki sat in the car with a smile that was ear to ear...she could not wait to see Mangla's face when she sees Koki at her door. Koki arrived at the home and rang the door bell. Mangla opened the door and almost dropped the phone she was holding to her ear. Mangla regained control of herself and told the caller on the other end they will talk later. Mangla and Koki stood there for a long time and then Koki spoke up. Are you not going to invite me in? Mangla then getting to her senses said yes of course. And she led Koki to the living room and they both sat on the sofa. Mangla offered to get something for Koki and Koki said just water please. When Mangla was in the kitchen she was wondering what this woman was doing here. She had heard from Parag that Koki was very sharp and could instantly read the real intentions of people. Mangla then got over her fear and decided she would face this situation head on. After all she was no newbie at this. This was what she did to make a living. Get men to keep her until she was tired of them and then move on to the next. God knows how many times Parag almost caught her and yet he always believed her when she gave him the dumbest excuses. Mangla handed Koki the water and said what did you want to talk about? Koki drank a few sips of the water while looking at Mangla and then stood up and said I don't like to beat around the bush so I will get right to the point. I know you are after my husband because you have an agenda. All this love natak that you are doing is not fooling me. And don't worry I am not planning to tell Parag anything. You see if he is stupid enough to fall for you then he is too stupid to realize who you are or what you are. Mangla had lost her cool by now and yelled at Koki saying how dare you come into my house and talk to me in this manner. Have you not been taught any manners? Parag and I love each other and I am sorry if you are not able to keep your husband happy. But that is your problem...don't make it seem that I created that problem. I have no intentions with Parag except to stay with the love of my life. Koki was amused by the amount of guts this woman had. So Koki pulled her wild card out and said...So you mean this "Vijay Parikh" meant nothing to you? Or how about this "Annant Patel?" Now don't tell me you already forgot him. You see I also know about your true love "Suresh Shah'... All Mangla could do was look at Koki with her mouth open and her eyes bugged out. She said you are now trying to make up stuff to make me look bad? To that Koki added...No I don't have to do anything, you see you did all the work I am just now getting started on my part of the work of showing your true colors to the world. Koki went near Mangla and with a face filled with rage and pointing her finger at Mangla said...Don't you ever try and come between me and my family. I will eat you alive. And as far as how I know all this...I may be a house wife but remember I am also an educated woman. I know the ways of the world. I just choose to live like a house wife because I like it. So from now on if I ever see you at my home...and by my home I mean the Modi Bhavan...You will not live to see another day! Saying that Koki left and just before exiting the door she turned around and told Mangla one more thing...Till today you may have played this little game of yours with some first timers, now you are dealing with the master...Jai Shree Krishna.
Koki got in the car to go back home feeling a little worn out. She may have showed a strong exterior but her insides were screaming and she felt like her whole body was shaking. She looked at her fingers and was amazed that they looked sturdy. Koki sat back and said if I could deal with her just now and not show any signs of weakness then I am completely capable of doing what I said I would. First she needed to call the investigator who was her best friends husband and thank him. She had already made sure her friend would cover for her incase this Mangla were to fill Parag's head with stories of her visit...
And now koki had to excite the second part of her plan...talking to Parag. She went to the guest room and knocked on the door. Parag told her to come in and when she came in she said Paragji I need to talk to you concerning this whole situation. Parag wanted to tell her sorry for cheating on her but he could not help falling in love with Mangla. But Koki stopped him from talking and said...I just wanted to let you know I am very hurt by what I have learned. But I am married to you and I also want whats best for the children so I was hoping maybe you and I could stay friends and not just act nice for the kids but actually mean it. Don't' get me wrong, I am hurt but I also love you very much and I will do what makes you happy. I also you know you don't love me and I am going to have to learn to live with that. So do you think we could at least be friends. Parag smiled at Koki and went to her and stood there and told her how much he would still enjoy having her in his life as a friend. As he has never had any luck with any friends. Koki said then I will be your first friend. Can I even say "best friend" because we already know so much about each other? Parag was so happy that he just shook his head and yes Koki you are my new best friend. Koki then told him since we are friends I would like to let you know that if there is ever a time when you need me...just call and I will be there for you...always...Promise. Koki had tears in her eyes and when Parag tried to wipe them off she moved away and said well I will let you get back to what you were doing...I am going to help Mota Bhabhi in the kitchen. Do you have any request for dinner. You know I always try to make your favorites when you come home from your conv...Parag then immediately said yes, can you make your cauliflower shak for me...You always did make it the best. Koki said...sharu...and left. Koki knew her plan was working out just like she wanted. If this Mangla was hell bent to ruin Parag and the Modi family for whatever her intentions were then she is going to have to go thru me!!!
Now we will see who is going to win...Mangla whatever or Kokila Parag Modi!
