'The queen' again?

Ekta Kapoor's shows are known for missing the deadline quite often.
It is not surprising then that Kya Hua Tera Vada which was planned for a January 16 launch has been delayed by two weeks and is expected to go on air from January 30. Besides the usual production delays, Ekta also wasn't happy with two-week promotion window given to the show.
According to inside sources, Ekta is keen that the show gets at least a month-long on-air promotion before it goes on air. Incidentally, Kya Hua Tera Vada has been given the prime 10 pm slot. Currently, the slot is occupied by Saas Bina Sasural which has done quite well for Sony over the last 15 months. But it will be shifted to early prime-time slot because Ekta feels the 10 pm slot is more appropriate for her new show.
"The idea behind blocking 10 to 11 pm slot for Ekta is to recreate the magic of Kyunki and Kahani. Bade Achhe Lagte Hain is already an established slot leader at 10.30 pm and if Kya Hua Tera Vada delivers similar ratings, Ekta would once again make her presence felt at late prime-time which she did earlier with Kyunki and Kahani on Star Plus," says the source.
Apparently, as her equation with Star Plus is not as it used to be before, Ekta wants to utilise Sony to make her comeback on prime-time TV.
"Having been on the sidelines of prime time, Ekta wants to rock as 'the queen' of prime-time entertainment. Kya Hua Tera Vada has the potential to garner decent ratings. If it does well as expected then Ekta will concentrate on other slots," adds the source.
If all goes well as planned, will she target the 8.30 pm slot next? Remember Kasauti Zindagi Kay, Ekta's third show on Star Plus, which was an 8.30 pm rock star? For now, it is a wait-and-see game.
