Okay, before everyone rises up in arms and thinks I'm going to support Raveena, please read through my post.
Also, another disclaimer I want to add is that I saw the show only from last week, and am hooked fullto. 😆
So here goes my two cents:
In a situation where a girl has just come out of a relationship (whether forced to come out or through circumstances), fact remains that she is emotionally battered, and needs time to recover and become normal again.
In this kind of atmosphere, if this girl is forced to marry, definitely it is tough. I really have sympathy for Raveena. After confessing her love for Rohit, still the whole family is mad with her and just forces her to marry Vikram. And to top it all, they are surprised / shocked when she tries to commit suicide.
How do you expect this girl, who is still in love with someone else to have sex with another person? Not that I'm excusing her suicide attempt, surely there are better ways to explain to her new husband. She could have said she needs time, etc., but that's another story.
Many Indian families push their daughters into marriage even when they are not ready, and then either the girls are unhappy, or just exist in the relationship.
My point is only that a girl should never be forced to do anything just 'cos she's a girl. That is so lame and today, we girls need to fight for our rights, instead of just as usual being brainwashed and thinking about family's izzat. 😡
