And aaj toh is the episode of complete surrender...That is what I like about Kesar SO much...The way he puts his whole heart and mind in whatever he did...For years he hated and ignored Gulaal...albeit could not have done whole heartedly ...but still tried his very best...
And then when yesterday he felt the truth in MB's words...the respect that Gulaal deserved...and boy! he not only gave her respect...he gave it to her before the whole WORLD!!!!
But we begin with the bangles scene...
I love how they are opening up to each other...yet tiptoeing to a great extent...
Kesar gave imlis via the terrorist...(She had literally adorned the burkha to prove that she is one na...😆)...then the bangles..he gave it to her in the stealth of the night...and then the famously known as the burnt Chunar...he gave it to her directly...and owww...they both looked so fresh fresh on the terrace that day na??😳
Arrr...back to this bangle scene...What I meant to say is that the way he is going deeper into the quick sand, without even knowing it...
And I love the expressions of both of them have over here...
Chori Chori Chupke Chupke...
And again the terrorist is the one to be the link😡
I tell you she has bricks in her brains...Gulaal is saying that these were not hers and somebody put them there...then it should have blinked into that empty brain na that it must be Kesar who did that!!!
I mean who else has brought bangles for Gulaal in all these years!!! The last time the poor man got it ...he got a big stick...so this time he is in hiding..but nah!! How to use your brain when you dont have one😡
And the boyish expression on his face was just too awesome...and the way he gets conscious when he gets caught...awww so sweet is that...
But the best expressions are the ones when he turns back to look at Talli putting bangles on Gulaal (What phutey naseeb...Alas! We never got one scene of him putting the bangles on her !!!!😭 All we had that buying of bangles scene..and that too Kesuda sitting right amongst the ladies and telling Gulaal to have them)
And the happiness that actually threatens to burst his face...
I love how he gets humbled when Gulaal talks of Vasant...I so love his dedication towards her memories...Vasant did become a sacred cow...but I think, the brats were the only ones who never did treat him as the judas (apart from MB ofcourse) and gave him a proper place...in their hearts...
Vasant and his memories make them smile through their tears...that is so unique for both of them...but for Gulaal it is Vasant's memories...and for Kesar it is the melancholy reflected on Gulaal's face because of Vasant's memories...
And that is what we see at the school inauguration too...
This time when Dushyant takes his name for the inaugural ceremony, his face doesnot hold contempt...he is clearly not concentrating on Dushyant and for that manner on anybody else...
He adopts Vasant's dream as his own...albeit alienating his ghost..the ghost of past that was hounding him by doing this...becoming the old Kesar who put Gulaal first..in everything...who had put the Vasant's paghdi on Gulaal's head, who had put his little feet in the big mojris of Vasant for her...who had probably grown out of his childhood too fast, but somehow could not grow out of his childish fetish (in all its positive meaning) because of her...
The way he says 'Unkey Sapne par'...He so loved his brother..it was difficult not to love Vasant...but it must have been more difficult to love him inspite of having to be forced to be like him...to have to live with such high expectations being demanded from oneself and still be found wanting everytime...to have a road carved out ahead of you..whether you wanted or not...and expected to walk on that...
But still he never begrudged Vasant for it...even when Vasant was thrown on his face...he never begrudged him...and his open acceptance of perpetual Vasant in Gulaal's life...that was damn endearing!
And then he takes her name...!!!!!
It is I guess the first time he does it as grown up Kesar...or may be the first time in this manner...which will now stay this way for time eternal (with some lapses ofcourse)...
I just love the way he takes her name,...Gulaal...from the deepest recesses of his heart...where she is ..and always has been...and it rings out SO true...so utterly butterly devoted and puppy like...
And the sitar background music...the happy music...that was so rare when both of them were in one frame...but still it uplifts your mood and makes you feel so mushily happy...as happy as they both were...
You have to love Gulaal over there...the way her smile is almost coming and is being subdued by the emotions she is feeling!
and I absolutely am humbled the way he steps back to give her space...and stays there...watching her every emotion...smiling with her and crying with her...
I actually cannot define this moment...so emotional it is ...and made me fall irrevocably for this boy...who had absolutely no ego, no compunctions, no bar, no hesitation in putting his love on the highest pedestal and be happy with her happiness...who would go to any lengths to rectify the mistakes he had made..and to put everything into doing in whatever he believed to be right...
What to say...
Am just putting one of my fav pic..
