Innovation is the need of the hour

There is something about a new year that fills you with hope and optimism. Going by the kind of television shows, at least a few of them, that were launched last year, I have some reason to feel hopeful about the small-screen. Two serials that grabbed my attention were Bade Acche Laggte Hai and Kuch Toh Log Kahenge. The refreshing storylines and apt casting were what got me hooked on to them.

While I continue to watch Kuch Toh... , Bade Acche...a mature romance between Ram Kapoor and Sakshi Tanwar has lost me completely. After a promising start, the romance has taken a back- seat and the story has digressed into a regular potboiler with the hero's past catching up in the form of a former flame and the parallel family drama. Thankfully, there is no such fear with Kuch Toh.. that is adapted from a popular Pakistani soap Dhoop Kinarey. The story is pre-determined and there's no chance of it going haywire. I have one complaint though: the lead pair more often than not, is never seen in the same frame, despite being together. In one of the episodes they were travelling in a car together and still the shots were taken separately. That's quite annoying when it is supposed to be a love story!

I totally agree to this, I started and I think 90% of us started watching BALH becoz of mature love story, but now all thanks to Ekta and her team that story is going haywire. I havent seen Kuch to ..., but if its on Pakistani serial, i hope it will be good, as I have heard a lot about them being good.
