What you said is true!!..But through rituals and tradition and religion,[let me add] She is TIED is a bonding! And that is with her husband.Yes,they don't have a relationship, but she learnt something completely different..and a whole different person, whom she shared a room with, and talked to knowing that was/IS her husband!!
Yes..ok she will be free physically,BUT will she be able to be free mentally??Won't her having a husband, religiously bother her??[as i'm not sure if they got court marriage]
I am surprised in this day and age that you think she is bonded by some ceremony, when she is not physically or mentally attracted to her "husband"! How can India on one side be on the cutting edge of technology and on the other side prevent our women from getting an education. By our religion we do not have "god of Knowledge" we have a "goddess of Knowledge" - Saraswathi. I watch Star Plus shows because I believe they are more forward looking than other shows.
yes there will be no story if she was not married to this bumpkin, but make it different CVs use this show to entertain, but also educate the classes... make educating daughters/women the theme of this show! I think the audience is sick of the "sathi savitri" portrayals we have had so far, we want to see modern women!
Hinduism is a forward religion we pray to women - goddess of wealth "Lakshmi", goddess of knowledge - SaraswathI and Goddess of Power - Shakthi, Durga, Paravathi, Lalitha... We are one the few countries in the world that can boast of a woman Prime Minister and a woman President. Yet on our TVs we watch women being abused everyday - either by other women or by men, they have to cover their heads when they are in front of other women and are told to so do by other illiterate women! Move on people this is the 21st century!
