UNI

BHOPAL: The Madhya Pradesh state Women's Commission is likely to issue a notice to Balaji Telefilms' creative director Ekta Kapoor over the objectionable negative shades of female characters in TV soaps such as 'kyunki saas bhi kabhi bahu thi'.

"The notice will be issued after a soon-to-be-convened meeting of the commission's members. The body took suo moto cognisance of the matter," Chairperson Relam Chouhan told UNI.

Admitting that the series also depicted ideal women, she said each of the soaps had at least one conspiring female who sowed seeds of disintegration in the family.

"It is true that people have good and evil shades but in Indian culture and tradition, family ladies have prestigious and respectable roles, Chauhan said

ok I understand regular house wives protesting. But women related to politics should have some knowledge of the Indian constitution and the freedom of speech. I mean Ekta or any one has a right to say any thing she or he wants, actually even if it hurts someones feeling. Such speech is called to hate speech and is still protected under the freedom fo speech.
I mean if they don't like to shows then don't watch them. It is as simple as that. And plus there is no control in families on who watches these shows. I read some where that a lady was protesting to her shows because her 5 year old asked her why he does not have 2 father like KZK and other shows. I mean there are families where 5 year olds are allowed to watch these shows.
I could go on about personal responsibility but then again,...
