Heyylo !
Do sympathy votes really exist? I mean, you are giving a 3 rupee vote to someone for Sympathy?
For example, let's take Miss Chahal. Her eyes get teary when she thinks about the tragedies that came in her life and left a huge impact on her. (some people call it "drama", well...gotta respect your opinion)
For me, I do not call it drama. When I try to put myself in her place, and when I imagine "what if these death tragedies happend in my family, to my close ones" My eyes get teary too.
Well, coming back to the topic ...
Would you give your vote to your FAVORITE or would you give it to someone who cried in the show for some reason or the other?
I support Mahek Chahal, no matter what her past was. It was Mahek's past, not mine. šŸ˜† I wonder why Mahek's past bother a few so much? Plus, if your not her fan, you shouldn't be concerned even. Am I right?
If any other member in the house gets teary because of some personal issue, I wouldn't still vote for them because they ain't whom I want to WIN. They ain't my fave.
Pooja got teary, Amar got teary, Juhi got teary, Siddhart got teary ... but my vote STAYS for Mahek because she is my favorite.
In short, this concept of "SYMPATHY VOTES" is totally ridiculous. Only those, who do not have any opinion would give votes to whoever they want every week. "oh he cried. oh she cried"
Not me.
What about you guys? Would you stick to your favorite or give sympathy vote to someone else.

Let's try to reach the depth of your message with some logic and some emotion and some pain.

Taking Mahek's niece's death memories - a personal tragedy is always painful. We all agree to that. And when something painful comes up in your memories, you cry (most will cry like Mahek does).

Now you know those memories are painful and you know you cried the last time they came up. So why would you choose to relive those painful memories again on national television in front of others (when you had a choice to avoid it by picking some other video). So that you can cry again? So that you can tell people again that how hurt I am and you should console me?

Most of us don't share personal tragedies with strangers and that too in front of 1000 people. But it can happen once in an impromptu manner when you get overwhelmed with some thoughts and someone asks you what happened and you end up sharing it and crying over it.

But when you know that you have a habit of crying (let's assume in a genuine manner for the 1st time), why pick that death and crying video once more? What message were you trying to convey to viewers thru that selection of the video?

I know you are a fan so the questions above might be meaningless but if you really want to go to the depth of your message, you will get the answer thru those questions.

Sympathy is at the core of every reality show. Feeling sympathy for some means that you can relate to them, and if you can relate to them you feel a connection with that person. Once the connection is established you start to like that person and even respect them. This lead to you really want to support that person because something that they said and cried about really touched your heart and you may have experienced similar situations. When you were in similar situation somebody might have supported you so you want to return that gratitude by supporting someone else who is in need. If somebody didn't help you when you were in similar situation then, you know how it feels to be alone. You may not want anybody to face the hardship you did so you decide to support that person because of that.

So to answer you question, the biggest thing you can win in reality show is sympathy and once you have hit the jackpot of votes. Since you mentioned mehek, the reason people are supporting her so much is because lots of people feel sympathy for her when she cries and share her personal tragic moments.

I don't know if mehek does this on purpose or not. But one thing I have noticed is that since she has returned she has been having lots of sympathy moments.

Completely Agree With You ...
When There Was A Task Given To Them About Achievements In Life N Stuff ... She Was The One Who Refused To Talk About Her Past ... She Said I Am A Very Private Person But Then Why Does She Herself Dig Up Her Past And That Too Only The Emotional Side Of It ...???????? Why Not The Other Things ...???? Because Emotional Side Will Help Her Build Good And Innocent Image And Other Things Just Might Spoil Her Image ...!!! She Knows Her Past Better .. So May Be Thats Why She Dint Talk About It ...

C'mon Its Not Only HEr But Every1 Has Got Some Emotional Issues ... But Why To Make It Public .. When You Know You'll Get Emotional On Those Things ...??

Stick To Your Words ---"I Am a Private Person" Why Contradicting Yourself ...?????

So far i did not vote for anybody and won't do even further .
in regards to mehak when her eyes get teary while remembering her father and niece , i don't feel as it's her drama ,VIP , agree with you , i can fathom situation of everyone whoever passed through these circumstances .

Mehak's first fight with Sky i can consider it her drama but her tears for father will not be considered fake that too to garner sympathy ..

I agree with the replies given so far. If a viewer has already decided his favourite contestant, then it is unlikely (though not impossible) for him to change his favourite just by feeling sympathetic towards some other contestant.

But most of viewers in initial some weeks have not decided upon whom to support. If they become sympathetic towards a contestant, they start supporting him/her.

But if she knows reliving those moments make her teary eyed, then why select the same video?

Well...I'll definately quote everyone in detail later...
but I can see most of yoos are agreeing to Sympathy votes -YES
Well...as a respect to everyones opinion.. my opinion remains as to that the voters are simply wasting their money by voting for mahek if its only for sympathy.
Sympathy has no meaning for me in life. Sympathy doesnt get you anywhere in life. If sympathy was really useful, everyone would be crying.

In one of the episodes (when Mandeep was also in the house) Mahek Chahel said that She is a very private person n does not wanna continue with the task , I think that task was about saying something about family or so. She just didn't do it .

So, if she is such a very private person, then why share you beloved tragic moment on National televison when you had two other options to choose from. (abhi family ko beech mein khud laa rahe ho aur kyu lana) ...Daya kee Maang ...Now I am confused Drama-giri ya Daya-giri šŸ˜‰

In short , Mahek Chahel simply "Overdoes" everything.

ā˜Æļø Enjoy !!!
