Join 100 fans and Akshay Kumar for MasterChef grand finale

As the top three contestants – Joseph, Shipra and Shazia battle it out in the first round of the MasterChef India 2 finale, only two of them will move to the grand finale. Yes, we're just a few days away from getting India's next MasterChef. 100 viewers of the show have been invited for tasting and judging the top two finalists.

Viewers will see the episode open with the two finalists in the MasterChef kitchen, as the three judges and eliminated contestants are waiting for them at a table. The flavour-e-azam recipes of the contestants have been recreated and everyone will enjoy dinner. At the table, the contestants and the judges will share with each other their memories of the significant dishes.

Chef Kunal says, "Oh, we are going to have so much fun in the finale before the task. I know the contestants keep imitating us all the time when the cameras are not rolling. But we are also going to pull their legs now. This will also help ease up the tension that the two finalists will face in the challenge"

Chef Ajay adds, "I have so many fond memories of MasterChef India 2 that for sometime it will be difficult to get back to my usual routine. The contestants this season have all been fabulous. I still remember how we keep teasing Vijayalaxmi for facing the most Aakhri Daavs and Joseph for crying the most".

The finale challenge will begin as the judges will tell the top two contestants that they have to prepare a signature dish that will leave their mark this season. The twist is that these dishes will have to be liked by 100 viewers of the show, who will then be judging them and deciding the next MasterChef. Chef Jolly from Renaissance with his team of chefs will be present to help them direct the correct flavours in every portion of the 100 dishes.

MasterChef Blog: Reconnecting with Akshay Kumar

Hi friends! Another season of MasterChef India is coming to an end. I am so happy with the overwhelming response we have received. Joseph, Shazia and Shipra have all been fantastic on the show, and it will be very interesting to see who emerge as the top two finalists.

When Akshay Kumar comes to the sets, for me it will bring back memories of season one. He is an electrifying personality and I am sure the contestants will be shocked out of their wits to see him. Especially when he reveals the conveyor belt task that we have decided. It is a one-of-a-kind challenge but I am sure our top three will up the ante with their cooking.

In fact our previous zaykebaaz are also going to be there. Dolcee has told us that she will try proposing to Akshay again while Akshay, I am told will be taking Hiral in his arms. Actually all this fun of being on the sets, the challenges, the innovative dishes – I am going to miss all of this a lot. It's been an exciting journey and the fact that I have seen dreams being made and broken in front of me has been an endearing experience.

As our promise started of making everyone change the way they cook, I hope we have fulfilled it. Badlo India apne khaane ka andaaz? From the zaykebaazon ka safar to our exciting challenges, everyone I meet is telling me that they have really enjoyed MasterChef India 2. I would really like to thank all of you for the immense love that you have showered on all of us. And also STAR Plus for bring the MasterChef concept to India.
I am already looking forward to the next season.

Akshay finds his brother in Masterchef India 2?

Our top three contestants on MasterChef India 2 – Joseph, Shazia and Shipra will be welcomed this week with much fanfare. They will be very surprised to see Akshay Kumar entering on a conveyor belt. The stage is set and excitement is in the air – so what's the challenge this time?

While the contestants will be ecstatic to see Akshay Kumar, they will also be nervous about the huge conveyor belt set up in the pantry. The judges announce that the conveyor belt holds the next task for the top three contestants.

Akshay Kumar says, "I have come to the MasterChef India 2 kitchen for the first time this season but for me its like coming back home. I am very excited to be here and am looking forward to meet Joseph in particular since I think we both have a lot in common. He also does martial arts, loves cooking and does not have a trishul on his shoulder!"

As Akshay explains, the task will include one ingredient coming to the conveyor belt every three minutes. While some ingredients will be for all three contestants, some of them are specifically for a particular contestant. Picking up any 6 ingredients, the finalists can leave out four. They have no clue what the next ingredient on the conveyor belt is and the ingredients they choose will have to be used to prepare a winning dish.

Shazia exclaims, "I am so excited to be in the top three that I already feel like a winner. I am also looking forward to see Akshay Kumar in the MasterChef kicthen. But, thinking about a conveyor belt in the pantry is very scary. I am already very nervous."
