Over the top reactions to the Diabetic comment

So I think everyone is going a little bit over the top with their reactions to Khushi's dig at Arnav's party not being sweet because he's diabetic and I do not understand why. I just watched it twice and I still do not get the offense that everyone's taking in it. I've been a silent reader for a while and a biggg fan of this show! I do not currently watch any tv shows except for this one, this is my first topic and post here. I hope I do not offend people but I'm sure I will but I do think the reactions are little bit too harsh. I'm a healthcare professional, I work with diabetics everyday, my moms a diabetic and I did not find the comment the least bit offensive. I don't think she was making fun of the disease, but just calling him bitter.
I'm an equal fan of Arnav and Khushi so I'm not taking a side, I just think the reactions are a little bit overboard with reporting the show and stuff like that because of this one comment. There are a lot of other issues that can be picked apart and tattle taled on to different boards but this is the nature of their tumultuous relationship. They offend each other, it's what they do. Anyways I'll shhh for now, just the first time I thought reactions were a little bit to heavy on something.

I just really do not want the show to be taken off the air because of this uproar. It's the only show I watch and make time for so I'd be super upset if it was. And I agree, I do not think she was trying to make fun of his condition, she wanted to take a dig at his personality that's all.

Yeah I do feel that people are making a big deal out of what happened in the episode when I felt that it was nothing new, they constantly say such things to each other so how was this time any different? And yeah she was only calling him bitter not making fun of his illness in any way.

i think people are too passionate abt the show.. and start thinking the characters are real thus hold them to realistic standards... which is not going to work on a fictional show.

p.s welcome to the forum.. we need people who love this show and are posititve

You know what, I also watched the epi on TV and also on youtube again and again.
She had no intensions of hurting him at all, it was in a very jovial way without any pun intended (check for the voice and experession again, its not at all a taunt). She did not even mean what she said, double check it plz
My father passed away few months back (4/09/2011 ) , he was diabetic too and i know for sure i will have it at my later stage of life without a miss(or any time sooner ) .It is heridetary and more of a lifestyle disease and these days its very common in India, we beat all the surveys with the increasing #s and majority of Indians are diabetic.
I did not find it offensive at all.Its all how you take it .
I remember one of the interview of Hrithik (usually i'm not fan of any celebs or actors in first place as my friend circle will not allow me neither i'm intrested , as we are more of book , music and sports loving circle along with our worklife) anyways, i liked only this bit of chat show and did not sit for the entire chit chat either.Let me share it across.
People used to pass comment abt his dad when they passed by calling bald/taklu etc. HR said there are 2 ways of looking at every situation.I'm a practical and optimistic person too.
1.If it is true then accept it and dont react as you simply cant react on it in first place when its true.
2.It it is not true then why do you react to it ? for things which are not true ? we need not have to react at all.
On top of it, this is a fiction so sit and relax.See it and take it as an enterianment only.
Dont take it personally or even attached to actors or characters, trust me on this. Its all for your good, i'm not forcing anybody here, just my pov.Appreciate them if you like their work and enjoy the show and I'm paying the channel for it , thats it.

Although I found it to be in bad taste,I did not find it offensive nor think that dialogue required such a uproarious reaction ...

May be members minded bec Khushi who till now was making fun of his illness to herself now openly ribbed him in front of NK otherwise it was typical Khushi reaction..😊

It does hurt to hear those kind of comments but those things happen in real life.. Let me tell you. i have a cousin with autism and I've seen so many movies and shows western and eastern movies were people make fun of those kids with disorder or hurt them and it breaks my heart to see that and makes me think what is going to happen to him when he grows up. My point that you cant stop those people from commenting and making fun of others. we are not saint everybody has a flaw. being made fun of even though it is not right and is mean thing to do but it does exist in the real world and is shown in alot of movies and shows.

What khushi said she didn't direct it to the illness Itself. It was directed to ASR , and honestly that line wasn't needed at all and the cvs's could have avoided it. don't mean to offend anyone so i'm sorry if I did. I just wanted to give my pov.
