2011- Hits and Misses!!!- Part 1

Monday, December 26, 2011 | 12:32:14 PM IST (+05:30 GMT) 2011- Hits and Misses!!!- Part 1

As the year bids adieu lets sneak into the shows that failed to make a mark in tellydom...

With the year 2011 all set to bid adieu, we at India-Forums, were brainstorming on what special could be gifted to our dear readers. Last year, we brought you the Top 10 shows that should make a return to your TV screens on popular demand.Similarly, for this year we've thought of a treat that you will remember as a record on entertainment news.

We bring to you a flashback of the main events that captured the minds of the audience. It's a daily treat leading up to the New Year where we will be covering different topics, and the countdown begins today.

Going with the current trend of television, it is essentially the survival of the fittest. There were a lot of shows that were promising, for which a lump sum amount had been set aside for publicity. But unfortunately, the shows that had promised a new beginning in the industry could not even last for a year. The year 2011 saw certain number of shows which finally could not make through to the top of the list and failed to meet the desired expectations.

Gulaal:

The first show that was shot on an HD Camera, Gulaal proved to be a brilliant show with the quality that it portrayed. The show that adhered to the roots of the concept from where it had started till the end, failed to gain the expected TRPs even after being in the Prime Time slot. Though the show failed to garner numbers, we still remember the happy face of Manasi Parekh as the lively Gulaal. The show lasted for ten months.

Somebody is misinformed! Lumpsum for Publicity😲...not unless the paid it all to cows in the cowshed and can't believe they put this one and also Just Dance in this category

Though they atleast acknowledged that it was a brilliant show...and what is with only ten months...Do the shows have to run for eternity to prove their mettle😕???

Atleast they brought up Gulaal somewhere..else this media and channel dont ever bother to write about such a masterpiece...

and good to see they acknowledge it as a brilliant show...

I think we should all comment on that article...show our love for the show...the least we can do for our show

My pig.🤗.Nevertheless at least they put Mukti bandhan in that category too which though I 've never followed but whatever heard were only praises for the excellent story and performances. They appreciated Gulaal But I am against the term hits or flops.Trp's have never been a parameter to judge the beauty of brilliance of a show.I will just repeat what i wrote there .

The first quality which is needed is audacity.Audacity to claim to be different and fulfill its claim too.Its important to remember that TRP's are never a yardstick to measure the success of a beautiful show.Gulaal from its inception claimed to be unique and challenging. Not many can appreciate a path breaking show defying social norms and the so called prejudices in terms of narrow sensibilities. For me quality cannot be measured on the parameters of success in garnering TRP's.Gulaal has been an outstanding show with a heart wrenching storyline, amazing taut script and screenplay ,magnificent sets ,brilliant cinematography, soulful background score and above all brilliant acting not only by the leads but also the entire cast .Gulaal never failed to surprise us with its brilliant performances by the leads Mansi and Neil Bhatt.Kudos to the makers of Gulaal who not only stuck to their basic concept but also refused to stoop down to become a part of the mad race for TRP'S.That is what excellence is.Gulaal has carved a niche for itself in our hearts and that's what makes it a cherished and exemplary show for times immemorial. It is the quality of our work which matters and not the quantity.Glad that we got to see Gulaal ---Quality show par excellence.Kudos to Gulaal

Misses 😲 they think gulaal missed to grab viewer's eyes 😲 then hum yahan kaisay yaar 😆 n srushu u r right, lumpsum for publicity? 😕 just when did they do that ? V vr even deprived of the promos also, a promo used to come after ages n SP kept showing maha episodes of other serials repeatedly but gulaal was always treated like a step child or even worse than that but v know its importance n the place it has in our hearts n the place which no other serial can ever take, plus what v feel for GK n the love that v have for our favourite jodi... no jodi can make us feel the same way, ahhh i miss gulaal 😭 but chalo atleast its name got a mention some where but in the misses section 😭 my heart is crying ...
