END of story |
Or almost so for some TV shows which will soon go off air |

Mumbai, June 18: On a break Rendezvous with Semi Girebaal, MTV's spoof on Simi Garewal's talk show is going to wrap up this month. But fans needn't worry because it's only a channel strategy, the show will be back, spanking new in Season 2. Ashish Patil, VP and GM, creative and content at MTV says, ''This show got higher TRPs than the original talk show and that makes me want to pee in my pants. But every season we force a change with all shows on MTV, just to freshen up.'' The show's grand finale on June 25 will have Cyrus Sahukar speaking with the real Johnny Lever. Bad bargain |
Ashi, Tia, Yuvi, Ranveer and the gang will bid adieu to the small screen on July 20 when the last episode of Remix will air. According to Deepak Sehgal, executive VP, content, of Star One, the show that had become a cult when it started out was now dwindling as far as ratings were concerned and so they have decided to end it. The show had been adapted from the South African tele novella Rebels Way. ''My personal opinion is that the crowd which watches the show has other activities to indulge in apart from watching TV,'' cites Sehgal as the reason for the downhill ride of the popularity of Remix. Perhaps the fans will curtail those activities, at least for a day, to catch the final episode.
Last laugh
Season 1 of the laugh riot came with a bang leaving the audience asking for more. And more is what they got with The Great Indian Laughter Challenge Dwitiya. The season finale is happening next week but the show is going to continue with a champions challenge where the six finalists will participate. That could make for more fun, but wonder if this show will also go the saas-bahu way of endless episodes. After all, there's only so much that the viewers can laugh at.
