Know the contestants:
Zee TV's Sa Re Ga Ma now Ek Main Aur Ek Tu
Since the viewers have seen the contestants knitting their individual magic in solo performances, now they will be offered to watch the contestants' mind-boggling chemistry between them. The contestants will feature in duet performances with an aim of enhancing the richness of the show. The show was launched on 16th March, 2006 and will on air every Thursday and Friday at 10.00 p.m. on Zee TV.
Speaking on the launch, Mr. Gajendra Singh, Creative Director, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa said, "As in all competitions, Challenge 2005 could have only one winner claiming the voice of India title. And the success of the show with solo performers was immense. We thought duet performances would only add more sheen to the already established equity of the show. The contestants have become a household name and the viewers will love to see the duo of their choice paired opposite each other."
Ashvini Yardi, Head, Programming, Zee TV said, "Ek Main Aur Ek Tu is actually for the benefit of millions of viewers worldwide who just cannot get enough of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. As a channel committed to provide desirable entertainment, we were sure that this new version will bring in a fresh new look and enhance the already existing popularity for the contestants, only this time with added grandeur and fanfare."
The best of the Challenge 2005 contestants will be selected for this and the viewers will be asked to select their favorite pair. Public voting would eliminate one couple every week and as the tensions mounts, India will get to choose the Ek Main Aur Ek Tu duo. The 'jodis' now have been formed and the competition has started. See the elimination of the first couple on the show. Here is a run-down on the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa EMAET couples straight from the sets!!! So get to know your favorite jodi.
Raktima (West Bengal) and Vishwanath (Gujarat) This couple cant see eye to eye! They cant stand each other but are together since their voices complement each others!! She thinks he is too old for her. He thinks she is too critical regarding just about everything!!
Saptak and Joyeeta (Assam) They have known each other for the past three years and are the best of friends. They are sure their off-line chemistry will work wonders on screen as well!!
Banjyotsana (Assam) and Sharib (Rajasthan) Sharib is not very happy to have her as a partner, a fact that he has made obvious to everybody. This has cut Banjyotsana to the quick. She is contemplating a change of jodi!
Irfan (Hyderabad) and Sinchan The quietest jodi since neither is conversant with the others language. Since both are from the south, Hindi is not their forte and hence they end up not communicating with each other at all!!!
Rajiv (Chamba) and Sanchali (Jamshedpur) He has the highest scale amongst all the participants and hence was finding it very difficult to get a partner. Sanchali least expected to be sharing the stage with him. It was only after Hariharan suggested the alliance that the two agreed. Their jodi is called the 'Hari Milai jodi'!!!
Twinkle (Lucknow) and Vishwas This is the 'hottest' jodi as per the live audience on the sets. We only hope both don't start thinking the same for themselves! Twinkle was amongst the top ten contenders in Challenge 2005.
Niladri (Mumbai) and Vineeta (Delhi) This babumoshai and kudi punjaban are quite a contrast. She is trying to teach him Hindi whereas he refuses to let go of his bong accent!!
Ujjaini (Kolkata) and Aishwarya (Bihar) This is the youngest jodi of the lot. They are both are school going students and have such a terrific chemistry that they are most likely to be amongst the finalists! Watch all this on Zee TV every Thursday and Friday at 10.00 p.m
