Chapter 8

At last Tamasha over.Every body had left.Rano dragged Geet to room where Maan was on bed...unaware to decision she made.It was ironic…he was gonna b married wth Geet.But was jst lik any other silent spectator outside who was there as a witness of that Tamasha.

Rano : Geet what u r doing ?..bhavana-on (emotions) main beh kar itna vadda faisla.( she jerked her shoulders)

Geet looked at her for some time .wth empty eyes , gav no reaction.

Rano : Geet jawab de…kyo apni zindgi barbaad kar rahi hai….woh bhi us Admi k liye ..jiska sirf Naam he patta hai tumko ( Rano looked at Maan)

Geet put Rano's hands down from her shoulders n moved toward door.Rano tried to stop her.But she left.when she came back ,had slate in her hand.

Rano knew She gonna write some thing n waited.

Geet ( wrote ) : Maa… yeh aap keh rahi hai.kitne dukh dekhay apne..taaki main kush reh saku ..mere liye..per har pal jo sahi tha uska sath diya ( she gav it to Rano)

Rano read n repeated

Rano : Kyo Geet ..u r my daughter…tumhare liye main kush bhi kar sakhti hu…main nahi karugi to kon karega Geet ( with lil softness in her voice she said )

Geet ( wrote): Yahi Maa..yahi to main apko samjhana chahti hu…kya sirf khoon ka rishta he kaffi hota hai..that we can go to any extent for our relations.But think .agar main hoti Maan ki jagah aap mujhko chod deti .( she looked at Rano's face for reaction )

Rano read n repeated those words again

Rano: Geet u r rite but ..if u marry Maan what ll b outcome 😲….socha hai tumne…in logon ka muh band karne k liye tum Maan se shaddi kar rahi ho..taaki inko apne sath rakh sako…

Geet: To kya Maa …main inko asharam main chod du.about which these people r compelling…kya hoga inka….ek jinda lash ki tarah padde rahegay..no body gonna care for him…shayad agar inki kismat main zinda rehna bhi hoga...yeh wahan theek hone ki jagah apni zindgi he gava de..But m not gonna let this happen.( n she moved toward Maan's cot)

Rano: Geet I hav nothing to say more….maine sheekh di thi , k sach ka sath do..u hav that..main usse inkaar nahi kar sakti….but think after u marry Maan…woh theek ho gaye..or unho ne tumko chod diya to..what ll we do than (she also movd toward Maan's cot )

Geet: Maa don think what gonna happen…jst think to sav him fron this so called society …I hav jst one option to marry him…yeh mujhe apnaye gay ja nahi yeh abhi kyo sochna

Rano was speechless. She tried to smile But her worries about for her daughter's future had broken her down from inside.

Stage was set for this unusual marriage.this marriage might hav a drama for all..People had been gathered all around.But for Geet this was biggest reality of her life.Her whole life was gonna b changed after that.For Maan this marriage mattered nothing.But for Geet this was biggest turning point of her life.

Sham brought Maan on wheel chair.to lil court yard…Wher Pandit Ji had lit fire in Hawan kund. Every body was curious to know how this marriage gonna b performed.

Geet was wearing same red suit which Rano sewed for Geet to wear in Mala's weeding. But nobody even Geet was aware that this gonna b the weeding dress for Geet

Geet could play her part in all rituals related to marriage.But how Maan?..who was not able to raise his hand up.How could he putVarmala,Sindoor, Mangal sutar..But above all 7 phere.She asked Sham to leave Maan's wheel chair for her n took him in front of Hawan Kund.

Rano,Rahul,Leela,Sham,whole persons of repute those came to her house n compelled her for this decision n common people were watching this holding their breath.She took Varmala from Leela Mausi..first put in Maan's neck.She gave Mala in Maan's hands but those hands were in Geet's hands.when Geet commands Maan's hands to put varmala in her neck.This might hav never happened n never gonna b happen.

What next.Rano came forward for Gath bandhan but whether Gath bandhan mattered for that person who could not take 7 phere .How could Maan follow Geet behind her for three pheras..how Geet gonna follow him for next four.

Might she have thought some thing for this before .That's why there were pieces of ropes in Rahul's hands.She had asked him to bring ropes but reason even Rahul was clueless.

Taking pieces of ropes from Rahul .She tied one end of each rop to wheel chair arms n took other ends in her hands .

Geet asked Pandit to proceed.n then started to pull Maan's wheel chair lik any animal pull cart.These people those were against Geet They were thinking why she was ruining her own life for the sake of a person having no relation wth her .After three phere she held Maan's wheel chair from back n completed remaining four rounds of Maan's part.

During Sindoor dan n Mangal sutar she did same as she did during Vermala time.Geet was Maan's wife.Two speechless creatures had been tied to one know.Due to voice of this evil power.But was this decision enought to shut them up ? What Geet gonna do now ? where was her lif going ? Might even Geet hav no answer.

Everybody left coz they hav nothing to say in front of this brave girl.who accepted challenge given by them.She took Ashirwaad from Rano n Leela.Broken Rahul left jst after phere.But from inside He was feeling proud of himself that he loved her.A girl who buried her own identity to give life an unknown's identity

Same Part

She gav no reaction n moved inside home n locked both of them in room.Rano n Leela knocked room continuously.But no effect.

Jst a single slit in room window assured Rano that her daughter was okey.She knew Geet's habit when ever she became upset she did same. closing her room.She always weep But after that she always told reason to her mother.

Why Geet did so today.Rano wanted to know as this was Geet's self decision for which she forced Rano to b a part of it.But she left her daughter alone.

Geet she was now Maan's wife.Mrs Geet Maan.It was great or an irony that She had jst her her husband's name after her.People all knew her They would call her Mrs Geet Maan.Good to hav straight name of her husband as she was Maan's wife.But what about daughter-in - Law of Maan's family.Might she ll never b .She had no family name of Maan.this marriage gav her right to b his wife not as Bahu of his family and when she gonna b or not gonna b only time knew.As this was her decision.

She put Maan on cot.Removed Varmals from his n her neck. removed her lil jewelry except Mangal Sutar n gav blanket. Sitting next to him She was continuously looking at Maan who was looking at roof as usual.Tears from her eyes fell on Tilak Maan had as a symbol of this marriage n wetness on it scattered lil bit toward his eyes.

Geet wiped it wth her Pallu lik it was symbol of Geet's thinking.Might she would release Maan from this relation if he wanted to wipe ..she would wipe her relation which this Tilak signified But she could not from inside which her Sindoor was telling.

She got up and threw herself on cot parallel to other Maan had.Sometimes she looked at Maan..some times rashes on her hands due to rope.She went in deep sleep .It was four.But when Rano continuously knocked door it was six.

She looked at Maan who was as such n opened door.

Rano :kyo tang karti hai mujhe...kabse rah dekh rahi hu..per tum per koi asar nahi..meri haalat ka.Maa hu.daar lagta hai tujhko apne paas nahi paati to, ( she busted)

Both mother daughter looked at each other n busted in tears hugging each other.She took Geet inside.

Lookin at MaansRano always had mixed emotions but today she had only two emotions.One She cursed him why he was here. n other she always prayed for him due to his this condition as whats happening he didn't judge.If he could he would b never here.n she put her hand on Maan's head.Who was no stranger any more.A part of their lives

so after days I wrote hop u ll lik .Plz those lik comment n hit. Critics n all r welcomed.
