Well, it does make a difference. Earlier Dev took Radhika for granted. He did love her immensely even then and now...but his trust on her was weak, as he admitted yesterday.
After being an RP, he was bogged down by several responsibilities. He was not just the simple guy anymore but a man whom the society looked up to with reverence...he was the head of PF now. He didn't know which route to take and made a huge blunder by announcing Barkha as his wife, because he thought that would be the best option, keeping the RPti name in mind and also for Radhika (he was scared people would call her names and then ultimately he won't be able to cherish his DDJee's dream of preserving RPti correctly!)
He was obliged to Barkha when she agreed to be a part of his plan and act as RPtian for the sake of this family. Since he was indebted to her, and felt that in a way her life was being messed because of him and his family...he didn't want Barkha to have any discomfort. When Radhika blamed Barkha...he perhaps wanted to choose Radhika's words but his logical mind (and apparently his fear of messing up RPship) made his trust on Radhika weak!
His words yesterday that he had to take many a decisions as a RP that his mind never gave him permission to.
1) So he never wanted to announce Barkha as his RPtian
2) He never wanted to mistrust Radhika
3) He never wanted to keep Radhika away from him
4) He never even wanted to punish Radhika.
But he was forced because he was donning the role of RP!
He is feeling as if the entire responsibility of holding this family's name is upon his shoulders and those are drooping because deep inside his mind he knows he was taking a wrong route always!
Once Rads/Kanha came in...Kanha started pointing out Dev's mistakes in a subtle gentle manner. Slowly Dev started realizing that he was wrong in a way to mistrust Radhika and did not give Rads a chance to keep her point, he also understood that being Rads' soulmate he shouldn't have doubted on her, he also understood that his inner mind wouldn't be wrong but the proofs can be (a person solely depends on proof and not his gut instinct when he is not confident of his own mind!)
But Kanha brought him back on the right path. Dev doesn't believe Barkha now. There were many incidents that made Dev slowly doubt on Barkha (the ghost incident, Barkha hallucinating etc) During all those incidents, Kanha worked slowly on Dev's mind. Made him realize that his trust was weak, though love was there and hence the doubt arised in his mind. Now Dev is fed up because of Barkha's doubt on Radhika and wants to prove to Radhika as well as himself that he can be a good husband and not just a good RP. Through these tests, Dev's trust has strengthened like never before.
But yes, it did get a little late. But better late than never. Radhika was almost reaching the death point but her Kanha saved her. Now...now Dev needs to know this. Perhaps this is the reason why Kanha did not send Radhika back to this house but rather chose to come himself in the disguise of Radhika. Because Kanha wanted to ensure that Radhika would not be treated again in the same manner as before. Because Kanha wanted to ensure that Radhika would be safe in this house. With Dev's immense support Radhika can withstand any rough weather. 😊
