Suhana's Corner: Happiness tinged with a little sadness Tweet

Hi everyone, I was shocked to learn that Bade Papa was living at our home in Delhi. I don't understand how could everyone take him back?
And how could Badi Ma accept him after suffering for years because of him? This situation is unfathomable. Meanwhile, this week I had to deal with a happy news and a tough situation too.
Our neighbours Sneha and Atul had to face a tough situation while getting admission for their kids in a school. Though educated, they can't talk in English which they feel is their handicap and as they wanted their kids to study in an English medium school, they had to give an interview- in English. Though Ishaan and I helped them practice English, Sneha was nervous and asked me to accompany her for the interview. When I saw that Sneha was struggling through the interview not because she didn't know the answer, but because the interviewer insisted she respond in English, I got angry.
I lectured the interviewer who gave English so much importance. Interview is meant to gauge the intelligence of parents, so why can't it be done in Hindi which she is comfortable in. Thankfully, they understood my point and obliged. Sure English is important but it isn't the be all and end all. Fortunately, the kids got admission.
I came home to some good news as the family informed us that Panna di is pregnant. I called her and was delighted to exchange information but I was taken aback when she told me that Bade Papa is living in our house now. I was shocked and wondered why no one told me about all this. I called Badi Ma immediately and demanded answers. I told her I was coming to Delhi, but she pacified me and said she didn't want to disturb us as we were so far away.
I tried my best to remind her about her suffering, her tears and her sacrifices over the years due to his absence. I kept thinking of all the moments Badi Ma and I shared when she spoke about her life and her pain and I simply cannot understand why he has returned after all these years.
I don't think a husband who leaves his wife deserves to simply waltz back into her life as he pleases. It's simply not fair and women should not put up with it at all.
