Au Revoir

Geet Hui Sabse Parayi

Unfortunately, the time has come for me to open up my very last post in Geet Hui Sabse Parayi forums. I never thought that the day would come so dishearteningly soon. Ironically, the eternal love that was portrayed in this drama had somehow compelled me to believe that the drama will remain immortal and everlasting. When I saw the official news confirming the end of our beloved show, it was like a slap on the face – jarring me back to reality. It made me reflect back onto the golden days and thus forced me to realize just how emotionally attached I was to this show. It's earth shattering but nevertheless all good things never seem to last forever, no matter how much we reach out to grasp onto it.

The reason why I formed such a intense relationship with this show is also due to the love I received in this forum. I was always a silent reader of Fan Fictions, posts and appreciation threads. But it was due to this drama that I finally made a post of my own and made countless cherished and very much loved friends. My psychotic obsession with Maan's eyelashes and hands is basically my identity in this forum. How can I forget that episode when Maan mentioned my name and I splashed my drink onto the screen. How could I ever diminish the memory of my heart lodging into my throat when I went onto the forums and read an array of threads stating that 'Samira' is possibly Maan's mother. The outrage, the humiliation, the incestuous disgust and horror of imagining Maan calling my name 'mother' was like a punch in the constipated gut.

That post 'My name is Samira and I am not Maan's mother' marked a spot for me into this forum. And although I was downright pissed when I initially wrote that post – boy am I glad that the forum had evoked a response from me. Because it was from that entrance when I began to openly join conversations, spam people's threads, get pages closed with my consistent chatter and so on.

So utterly inspired by the chemistry of the lead actors 'Drashti and Gurmeet', I was motivated to write my very first fan fiction in dedication to their love. 'Irrevocably Yours' was my initial and most dear piece of writing that I had ever written. Within every chapter, my absolute love for the lead was reflected and scribed upon. The inner writer lurking within finally emerged like a Gremlin seeking for food as I continued to create various one shots 'Incarcerated, The Devil and the Wallpaper, A poisonous love and Forget me not'. This was the first couple that I wrote so much stories about. That could probably contribute to 0.000001% of the obsession I have for them.

Apart from my interactions through posts and FF's, how could I ever forget the hilarious posts that were created whenever a blooper or funny scene occurred. How can I also block out the saddened posts that were dedicated to our leads whenever a heart breaking scene took place. Do you recall the episode when Maan first got injured and whilst he was being taken to the emergency ward via a stretcher, his hand clutched onto Geet's dupatta. The way they had to forcefully remove his hand from his desperate grasp was so moving, I do believe we shed a few tears.

It seems like we are the only forum that truly formed a bond with one another. To think that we could not bear a scratch on Maan or to see a tear on Geet's face. Despite being fictional characters we reached out for them as if they were kin to us. That I believe is the beauty of this forum. We comforted each other in times of sadness and we celebrated with one another in times of triumph and happiness. We stood together as one. Do you know why? Because the moment anyone stepped a virtual foot into this friendly forum, they would instantly be welcomed with open arms. I am proud to have belonged to this forum and I am even more thankful that I found friendship and acceptance within you all. And I say this with all the sincerity that I could muster: I love you. I love you all. I hope that somehow we will all meet again and unite in another forum whereby we can form the very same relationship with one another.

I found a song and did not understand a word of it. But feelings of love and heart ache is universal. I don't need to know a language in order to understand the emotions being portrayed in every tune. I would like to share it all with you.

Before I conclude this pessimistic and totally emo post – I want to reflect and comment on the specific episodes that made our heart beat for Maan and Geet.

~The infamous coke scene~

I never watched Geet when it first started. I'll be shallow enough to admit that men with reading glasses just did not appeal to me ( I hope Karma does not bite me in the ass for stating this. Imagine if my husband turns out to be a man that tweaks his glasses more than he even breathes AhemDEVahemcough). But I recall walking past the television screen when this scene took place. I stopped in my tracks and shamefully also drooled on my carpet as I watched the most intensely RUDE and ill-mannered introductory scene ever to be displayed on television. I was spell bounded by his beauty as he took a sip of my favourite drink (coke – trust me humans I've been replacing milk with coca cola in my formula bottles when I was a toddler in my nappies). His eyelashes were so long that I felt my legs buckle. I clutched onto the couch with my right hand and my heart with the left as his fingers and clean hands were revealed to my eyes.

~The best scene in Indian television~

My love for this drama does not make me biased when I say that this scene was by far the BEST I have ever seen in my entire life (not that I have lived for long – 19 years and 10 months to be exact). I was ogling the man with lustful eyes, slurping on my coke and wiping the drool from my dribbling mouth. I was mentally depriving him of his innocence in that episode. If he were a virgin – consider him de-flowered with all the thoughts that went through my mind (LMAO). His eyebrows were so sexy! The way he stood up in the shallow water (the blooper cannot even diminish the beauty of the scene) and told Geet to shut up. I was in love. 'Tell me to shut up you sexy man' I had whispered to Youtube, 'I'll jump into the river for you baby' I slurred drunkenly. And that was the episode when I declared him as my mentally constructed husband. That was also the episode when I noticed his ASSets as the damp pants clung to those special special ASSets.

~Who wants to purchase that tree?~

That tree *points shaking fingers towards it* would be sold for millions in an auction. And I would be the first to purchase it. That tree is ….. historical! Maan and Geet touched that BLOODY tree! The scene was so hot. I was fanning myself with one of the leaves that had fallen down in demise after being shaken to death with Maan's perfect hands. You know something is wrong with you when you become jealous of a freaking tree.

~Brij ki talwaar~

This was the episode when my ass was about to slip off from my chair as I was so tensed – looking around the room in case Brij and his mates were hiding with their 15th century Aladdin swords. I actually felt sorry for my future husband when I watched this episode. The poor sucker is going to have a lot to compare too. In fact this episode is the first thing I will show him in order to give him an idea of what he has to go through to prove his love for me. Yes girls, raise your hands and nod in agreement. After this episode all of us were convinced that our man has to use his own hands to stop an ancient sword from slashing us. He has to shed his own blood for us because really ….. that's what love is right right RIGHT!? crackles in evilness

~The reluctant hand and the random wind~

Alright – as if you did not just DIE in this scene. The first CUTEST episode that actually showed his attraction for her. Geet looked absolutely adorable. The perfect doll that she is! On top of that we had a good chunk of an eyeful of Maan's gorgeous hands. I don't know about you but I was about to bring in a fan, take it to uni, sit in a random lecture room (Engineering preferably '97%' hot population of guys) and let it blow my hair as I pretended to sleep. The first man who tried to push my hair away from my cake faced persona was going to be my victim of being stalked for life. (LMAO).

~The infamous introduction of 'Maaahi'~

The very first episode whereby our beloved background score for Maaneet was finally introduced.

~'Stalk me baby one more time!'~

I don't know about you but I do believe this was the best staring session throughout the entire show. You've heard the saying 'Speaking with your eyes' (Okay that wasn't the original saying but I completely forgot how it went – hence I made it up. Consider this an edited version LOL). Well Maan definitely spoke with his eyes. I have never seen so much emotion in one's gaze. He did not even need to speak or confess. His eyes said it all. He was totally, irrevocably in love.

~'Kurbaan Hua' dance of the millennium.~

I am proud to convey that no reality drama such as 'ZNKD', 'Nach Baliye', 'Dance India Dance' could ever pull of a dance routine as perfect and flawless like the Kurban Hua sequence. Nor could there ever be a drama that could even light a candle in comparison to the intensity, love and sizzling chemistry that was portrayed within each turn, each glance, each pull, each lift of this dramatic dance of possession.

~'Geet at her hilarious best!'~

I rolled on the floor during this episode. I think I did a snake dance because I was twisting and maar dala-ing all over the carpet in fits of laughter.

~'The ultimate Dhaba scene'~

~'Behne de – voluntarily first hug'~

This hug scene was amongst my most favorite. The embrace was so hot. You can see Maan struggling to fight back his feelings but he eventually gives in. Surrenders for her, completely.

~'The bed scene'~

I would do ANYTHING to be that bed right now. ANYTHING.

'Teri Dewaani – Geet realizes her love for Maan'

Drashti's acting was beyond words. The way she depicted Geets realization that she was in love with Maan was so palpable, so transparent that you actually believe that the characters are truly in love with one another.

~'Maaneets first real hug'~

I think the forum had a massive heart attack with countless threads being opened 'Did Maan kiss Geets shoulder blades? If you look through this angle you could see that he kissed her shoulder blades'. LMAO. To think that us innocent little desperadoes were getting excited with a brief shoulder scene was hilarious!

~'Tumhe mujhse pyar hogaya'~

Did anyone notice his voice turn husky when he said 'You have fallen in love with me?' Because I doubled over and groaned in agony because my stomach hurt from the beauty of his sexy voice. He directed the question to Geet but it was I whom was nodding my head, eyes closed, saying 'Ha! Haaa' (with my horrible aussie accent) 'Haaa Maan, kaha na pyar hai! PYAR HAI! KAHO NAAA PYAAAR HAAAI'

~'The episode that caused hospital wards to be flooded with fainting patients'~

Roop tera mastana was an epic and dangerously hot episode. In fact I believe the entire universe was confused as to whether they consummated their love. I don't know bout you – but I was all up for it! I do admit that I was humiliated and embarressed for Geet when she randomly lied down on the bed. GIRL what you doing? OHMYGOD! What if he stood there, raised his eyebrows and broke the intense scene by saying 'um just what are you doing lying down on a bed, abandoned and panting openly'. I recall whispering 'Get up Geet, please please don't lie down before he does. Let him guide you. Don't already jump too conclusion's'. I said this to my pillow by the way. Because it was the only item I was breathing and suffocating myself with.

Alright I know there is over 500 scenes and I cannot post every single one of them up here. But the last video I wanted to show was the infamous 'Pee loon' sequence. I absolutely loved loved loved it just like Mr Darcy loved Elizabeth in Pride and Prejudice.

I couldn't bear continuing with the video uploads. I was getting depressed just watching them all over again. In fact I think I just treaded on my own broken heart. I know this is like the longest freaking post ever but I had a lot to say. I would like to thank our moderators especially Jyoti who was absolutely amazing in her role. We could have never asked for a better mod in this forum. I would also like to thank all the writers who wrote such inspiring masterpieces. I would like to thank the skillful VM makers who made my life live-able on the weekends as I watched, re-watched and showed the world Maaneet. I would like to thank my friends for being psycho like me. We need mental patients like us MORE OFTEN! I would also like to thank those poor readers who are ready to knock me out for not updating my current FF for like 3 months. I'm too scared to visit that thread right now!

I would also like to thank Drashti and GC for giving us Maan and Geet. No jodi, no show and no actor could ever possibly compare. They were eternal and will forever remain in our hearts. We were immensely lucky to get the best looking people to act in this show. If we ever get into a fight – the best come back would be. 'Your show might have this that and this but did they have a lead as pretty as ours? I think not!'.

This is Samira signing off. I hope you enjoyed my last post because I am getting pretty much all girly and crap – fanning myself and restraining myself from breaking into a depressed song. I will see you all fighting alongside like a 10 year old when either DD or GC is casted with a different actor in future shows. 'Yes I do believe that every actor has the right to have a chance but really this is GC/DD we are talking about. Stuff the formality – WE WANT DD/GC TOGETHER IN ALL SHOWS.' LMAO. I now feel the pain of all Prem and Heer lovers. All those times I used to roll my eyes and tell people to grow up and let the celebrities move on with their independent shows. But stuff that – I'm all in with the Gandhi strikes and childish rants. I'll see you all there ;)

And to all the haters out there. Beware. Now that I am no longer watching a show – your favorite drama or couple is now in danger of my sarcastic and rude comments. I've always wanted to have revenge. And now the time has come HAHA!

Jokes apart – I would like to conclude this post with a scene that caused me to cry like an absolute baby. I think Geet told their story with much more emotion than a 10 000 word essay like this could. Goodbye Geet Hui Sabse Parayi, you will forever remain alive in our hearts.
