Part 14

Maan took Geets hand and ran with her down the road. Behind them the men exited the building and were looking for them, when they spotted them running down the street. The men followed them, but were cut by a van, which helped Geet and Maan to run into a smaller side path, which went unnoticed by the followers. Maan and Geet were running down the path and into another big crowded street. After five minutes of running, they finally saw a cab. They run in front of it and the cab stopped just inches in front of them. As the driver was about to shout at them, they entered the cab and Maan took out a bunch of money, which stopped the driver from uttering a word. Maan said still out of breath the address of the pension and the man drove with full speed.

Both Maan and Geet were out of breath. Maan looked back to see if there was anyone following them, but it looked like no one was there. He let out a breath in relieve and hugged Geet tight to himself. Geet who was still in shock at the events which happened, just hugged him back with all her rest strength and buried herself into his embrace. They still couldn't believe what happened just minutes ago. Did that all really happen or was it just a bad dream?

They sat there in silence to recover from the run and listened to each other's heartbeats calming down. Maan was about to break the silence, when the car stopped and the driver announced that they had reached the given address. Maan nodded at him and gave him the money. He got out and held his hand out for Geet, which she took immediately. They went inside the pension and went straight up to their room. Maan locked the door and windows and went to the bed and lay flat down. Geet who was still in trance sat down on the bed without uttering a word. Maan looked up at her, stood up in a sitting position and cupped her face, which made her look at him. She still was very terrified.

Geet' Mann whispered slowly to take her attention. She looked at him with a blank look. The next second she flung her arms around his neck and hugged him for dear life. She started to cry and was shacking from fear. Shhht' Geet' Bas, bas. Shhht' I'm here. You are safe. Shhht. Don't cry shona. He whispered to her and rubbed her back to calm her down. After few minutes she calmed down, but was still crying. Maan slowly broke the hug to look at her. He cupped her face and wiped her tears with his thumps. He shook his head to say her don't cry. She holds his hands and stopped crying. He smiled at her and she tried to smile back. Maan kissed her forehead and leaned his forehead at hers. Both closed their eyes to cherish this moment of togetherness.

M: Geet. Maan opened his eyes to look at her again.

G: Hmm?

M: We have to leave from here. She opened her eyes and looked at him with questioning eyes.

M: They know that we are here somewhere. It won't be long since they would find us, so we have to leave.

G: But where will we go?

M: Don't worry. We will find some place. Now get up and get ready. We will leave in five minutes Hmm?

Geet nodded at him and stood up to get ready. After five minutes they left the pension.
