| Televisionpoint.com Correspondent Haath Se Haath Mila, the 52-episode reality show is already on air on Doordarshan, it shows a top Bollywood star in close interaction with youth achievers who work to bring about HIV/AIDS awareness. The BBC World Service Trust, in association with NACO and Doordarshan, have come up with a music video, the lyrics of which have been penned by Javed Akhtar. The music has been composed by Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy and it has been sung by Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghosal, and what makes this music video stand apart from the rest on the small screen is that, this is the first music video of its kind to feature 50 of the brightest stars from the film and television industry. The music video Haath Se Haath Mila has been choreographed by Shiamak Davar. These include, John Abraham, Bipasha Basu, Fardeen Khan, Zayed Khan, Shilpa Shetty, Dia Mirza, Raveena Tandon, Waheeda Rehman, Jackie Shroff, Naseerudin Shah, Tabu, Lara Dutta, Sonu Nigam, Neha Dhupia, Ayesha Takia, Malaika Arora Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Amrita Arora, Dino Morea, Raima Sen, Riya Sen, Kunal Kapoor, Tusshar Kapoor, Isha Koppikar, Yana Gupta, Aftab Shivdasani, Hrishita Bhatt, Preeti Jhangiani, Bikram Saluja, Nauheed Cyrusi, Nagesh Kukunoor, K.K. Menon, Ashmit Patel, Sandhya Mridul, Yash Tonk, Suchitra Pillai, Lilette Dubey and Anuj Sawhney. It also includes ten of Indian television's biggest stars, Smriti Irani, Saakshi Tanwar, Mona Singh, Pooja Bedi, Nikki Aneja, Mini Mathur, Simone Singh, Sugandha Garg and Nasir Khan. Shot by Anu Malhotra, creative head of the series, who is also known for her earlier programmes such Indian Holiday and Namaste India, the video will be aired on June 8. Speaking about the massive project, Malhotra says, "We wanted to have as many youth icons as possible in this starstudded music video, and make it an inspiration for youth around the nation." But how easy or difficult was it to handle 50 artistes under one roof? Anu replies, "I had been planning this music video for a year. The team that I was working with had already spoken to the stars about this video to bring about an HIV/AIDS awareness. Things were so well organised that everything went on smoothly on the day of the shooting. Yes, I did face obstacles because some stars who had promised to make it could not at the last minute. They could not leave their shooting schedules, while some who said that they could not come, surprisingly came over as they could squeeze out time for it. But I completed the shooting of the video in two days." |
