Hindu and Hindustan both come from the river Indus. The religion and the original civilization come from the Indus valley, hence the name. Bharat is the Sanskrit name derived from Bharatvarsha or the descendants of Bharat. Trust me, you definitely don't want to go into a history smack down with me.
As for Khajuraho or the Kamasutra. You don't have to be a Hindu or believe in Hinduism. These erotic temples and erotic texts exist and are a part and parcel of Indian culture and history. No matter what your religious belief, you cannot deny the existence of history and culture. There is absolutely nothing to be embarrassed about this part of Indian culture. In fact it showcases a time in our history when our society was progressive and had the ability to address sexual morals in a positive civilized way.
Personally as an Indian I am more embarrassed at our sexual morality today that is steeped in hypocrisy. We are quick to look down and demean someone because they do po*n, without even giving them a chance to show who they are as a person, what their personality is and how they treat people. This coming from a nation that struggles with population control, HIV and STDs. This coming from a nation that has not yet been able to offer rights and protection to women and children from sexual and other forms of abuse they suffer. po*nography may not gel with our morals and be distasteful, but there are far worse things that are actually detrimental to good society that we sweep under the rug with hypocrisy.
