Akshara's Column: No better place than home

Hello friends, during these tough times I have realized that there is no place like home. Moreover, these trying times have brought not just Naitik's family, but both my families together and strengthened our bonds.
While leaving our Singhania house, Natik and I got emotional as we had dreamt that our child would take its first steps in this house and now tides have turned and that might not happen. I have got lots of love from our house and spent many happy moments here. I am hopeful that we will get our house back soon, but I couldn't help but be in tears and we all left with a heavy heart. Bauji and ma requested Dadaji to stay at their house rather than a lodge, which he accepted.
I was worried how the two families would adjust with each other. I could sense that everyone felt a bit awkward as staying at their samdhi's house is unimaginable. Though Ma and I did ensure that they were all comfortable in the house, but what Gayatri Ma said was true too. There is no place better than home. The happiness, satisfaction and comfort in the confines of your home is unmatched. I felt my parents' concern might hurt my in-laws but they asked me not to fret over it and that everyone was just too emotional at the moment.
I apologized to my family for lying to them about the financial condition of my in-laws. Bauji said had he knew he might have been able to help. But they understood that I had to protect the self respect of my in-laws above all. Later, Naitik went to look for rental houses along with Gayatri Ma but they didn't like any of the houses. At home, ma didn't want to celebrate Ananya's birthday in these circumstances but when Dadaji and everyone overheard this, he rubbished the idea and said that celebrations shouldn't be postponed and her first birthday should be celebrated as planned.
Ma couldn't understand the hurry to find a rental home, and suggested I could go post my godh bharai. What should I do? I am sad and confused.
