The day of the Competition brought the students together for a little rehearsal time. There were six elements to the Inter Competition which were Poetry, Dance, Symposium, Singing, Quiz, Art's and Graphics whic Mount College had needed practice on regarding Dance mainly due to the abrupt change in partners. Everyone was waiting for Abhay to make an appearance but he'd remained out of reach. Jeh looking his arrogant self at having injured Abhay last night was revelling at his enemies downfall.
Pia decided she'd go looking for him herself heading away from the disgruntled group rapping on his door only it wasn't locked so she entered wading through to see Alina was looming over Abhay massaging his body with him screaming in agony-What's going on here?
Alina turned around at Pia with a coy smile on her face responded-Abhay injured himself. I'm a healer so i erm. I'll erm leave U guys alone. Just let me finish what i'm doing. Then he's all yours.
Pia came closer to see the damage to Abhay's body. There was a purplish clumps on his skin and scratch marks like he'd been cut deep but Abhay was a vampire-Abhay! (Her eyes filled with worry and fear) Who did this baby? What did this?
Alina smiles at Abhay seeing him in pain gave her a little satisfaction. She'd helped Jeh last night uniting her powers with his so they can overwhelm Abhay which was the reason why Jeh seemed as strong as Abhay. He deserved this for almost killing Sid. Alina made sure she was as rough on Abhay making him feel every wound she'd been healing-Done Abhay! I gotta go now. See U later?
Abhay squeezed Alina's hand gazing at her with his grey eyes making her feel a little weird inside like he had humanity inside of him-I owe U Alina. U really are a good friend.
Alina kissed Abhay's cheek giving Pia a brief look-What else are friends here for? U ever need anything i'm there. Just stay away from trouble. U know who i'm on about?
Pia hated this coded interaction going on between Abhay and Alina. It made her feel like she was being left out as her eyes follow Alina is out the door Pia touches Abhay's skin like marble which was now miraculously healed. What transpired last night? Pia kissed Abhay's bare back and then trailed her fingers all the way to his face stroking it. Never before did she see Abhay so weak before.
Abhay got up and Pia mirrored his movement holding his hand and slowly moving into him in an embrace laying her head on his bare chest. Pia locking her eyes with Abhay filled with questions but she held them back. For now she'll give him a little space. Soon she'll lure him under false assurance and then zap him with her armoury of 20/20Questions.
Abhay smiled at Pia weakly giving her his arrogant one liners-I see U are in awe of my well built body Pia but we have a competition to win.
Pia whispered-Don't get ahead of yourself thinking i want your body Abhay. There are better looking guys than U.
Abhay smirked-But there's only one me Pia. No guy can make U feel the way i make U feel and you'll never meet a guy like me either.
Pia remembered the last time he'd said those lines to her filled with arrogance and pretended to get offended-Oh Mr.Attitude is back huh? U want to play this game huh. I a Paris return model can get anyone i want Abhay. U are just a fish in the sea. I can replace U with the click of my fingers.
Abhay let out a laugh-I've dated girls like U and tossed them aside. U are too much of a barbie doll now Pia. I prefer my women a little more fiesty and a lot more intelligent. You're too high maintenance for me.
Pia glaring at Abhay with her big brown eyes-So Mr.Hotness is now Mr.Rudeness thinks he's too good for me huh? Now i am getting very angry. Bring back my Abhay now.
Abhay loved it when Pia got mad-Or you'll what Pia? Talk me to death!
Pia came closer giving Abhay her deadly look-Nobody replaces Pia Dobrial. Abhay Raichand i'll make U regret it.
Abhay pulled Pia closer-Are U threatening me Pia? U know i'm very dangerous.
Pia whispers-I love danger in a man. (Then sucks in her breath closing her eyes and revealing her fear) I'm not a China doll Abhay. I know U think i'm too fragile and i'll break but I'm stronger than U think. I can take anything. Just remeber this. We have dance practice.
Abhay gave Pia a sweet kiss on her cheek-Pia U want to know what happened last night but i don't want to upset U and nor is it the time to reveal what i am trying to understand myself. As soon as i get to the bottom of it i will tell U everything ok.
Pia brought her CD with her-I might as well put this in the player and we can practice here (feeling a little flushed). We need...
Abhay mused-Pia do U really want to dance with me all distracted and not paying attention to the task in hand or am i allowed to get my shirt on?
Pia let go of Abhay nad saw him get changed fast and back to holding her in his arms and dancing together a little while. They hadn't spent long on it as they were aware of each others move by memory like they were one.
Pia left Abhay's room and headed back to hers to get changed for the Competition. Misha was there waiting for Pia to spill but Pia kept her silence. Then both were headed out to mee all the other teams in the main room downstairs where the judges had taken their seats. Abhay was already down in a flash with his old friends Venti, Ranbir, Isha, Karan, Imran and co and even the dejected Tina was there hovering around Abhay. Pia clenched her hand and Misha saw where her eyes were fixed on. Her sister Pia would never learn. She was always after what she could not have. Misha nudged Pia breaking her spell.
Pia felt Jeh sit next to her smiling softly-So do U know what you're doing with Abhay? We haven't seen U practice. I'm just concerned we'll lose.
Pia confidently assured Jeh-Win or lose Jeh makes no difference to me so long as we've all tried and Abhay and I don't need to practice. We know how the other functions. I guess its weird but i know how he works and he knows me just the same way.
Jeh felt flat inside like he'd been punched in the gut-I know U still have feelings for Abhay. Its why U don't want to be with me.
Pia stiffened-Jeh i don't want to talk about Abhay and ruin my mood. Just leave him out of it. I have a love/hate relationship with him kinda like i have with U at times but U are now my best friend.
Jeh indicated with his hands that he is zipping his lips.
Finally the competition kicked off with The Quiz round with Abhay as the main leader along with Pia and Jeh and Chiraag Doshi on the opposite team there was Venti, Ranbir, Imran and Sana and another 4 Colleges had their turn to knock the other out until Deradun 6th Form College were against Mount College winning this first round. The next round was Singing with T taking over for Mount College and Tina for the other Colleg. Tina won unanimously. The Symposium was taken by Dehradun's 6th Form College. Arts and Graphics taken by Xaviers's College. Kabir won the poetry round with his words written by himself. The final round had the Dance round which everyone was waiting for with bated breath.
Tina performed her dance with Venti almost like she was seducing the guy on the floor. The judges seemed like they were in awe Her eyes were mainly on Abhay through out the entire performance like she'd expected Abhay to be jealous. Pia felt the shivers coming out from the cold stare aimed at her from Tina. Abhay refused to even look at her. Something was off with the girl as in mentally off. She was almost too dark in her eyes. Then a roaoring applause in the room deafened everyone.
Now Pia and Abhay came to the centre taking their place with their music on play. Pia was stood alone with Abhay circling her like the firefly she remained flowing on her own till she met her fire. They both came together in a synchronised manner locking the others gaze and making everyone disaapear from sight. Abhay picked Pia up almost sweeping off the floor like he was levetating with her and swayed her in his arms like they were lost in each other in their own World where only their love existed almost telling their own story to the audience. The hardships they'd faced. They were in their moment and then the music changed track from a happy melody to a dark and despair morbid feel and then Pia lay on the ground in Abhay's arms as her expressed his inner melancholia and he too perished into the darkness as their story remains unfinished as an unknown entity takes their hearts and rips it out of them making everyone give them a standing ovation and a rapturous applause. There wasn't a dry eye in the room.
The results were finally in and the winner was announced. Pia leapt into Abhay's arms and kissed him in front of everyone blowing their cover. Then they pulled away. Abhay had a dark look in his eyes and Pia pretended to be grossed out but Misha already knew the full story.
Abhay allowed Jeh, Kabir and Pia teke the trophy while he slipped behind into the background.
Misha saw Abhay scanning for a way out and grabbed his hand-Not so soon. We won this as a team and U helped us win this. What a show U pulled and this without practice. I know what U and Pia are up to. I'm cool with it just treat her right. But U two are seriously a little too hot to handle. How on earth did U manage to pull that out?
Abhay remained silent looking at Pia's emotionally zapped out pale face.
