The main reason is definitely bad story tracks .I am not sure but I think the news about Sushant's leaving itself was putting people off... In the show there was hardly any focus on Manav .
I know that PR is the main reason that Sushant and Ankita are popular but they have done a fantastic job in the show and people are very used to seeing them .Their chemistry was a big reason for the show's success.With the entry of the new Manav , TRPs may get a boast but how long will that be sustained remains to be seen ...The makers of this show had a very good show and a very good cast but they messed it all up very badly ( in my opinion that is )

When there were good storylines, plus the amazing cast, PR was very successful. However, once bad storylines were introduced, coupled with the 4 year leap, the regression of main characters particularly the leads, the show was bound to suffer.
Now that one of the very popular leads has left, (and many of the original cast members), many people will lose interest in the show. PR will continue to lose popularity because many viewers are not interested in any other actor playing Manav. Regardless of how talented he is, how popular he is, how nice he is, he will never be seen as Manav. Not after Sushant has made Manav his own. Sushant has brought Manav to life and made him into a particular person, whom no one else can recreate.
Regardless of what Ekta and Zee do, PR is over! It will never return to the good old days, with the level of popularity it once garnered. The best thing to do is to lock up shop. Take everybody out of their misery.
