The Fasting and the Furious
It's Yom Kippur on "Gossip Girl." Which was about a month ago. It's like having a Thanksgiving show on Christmas. Are any of the GG writers paying attention anymore? Blair begins her atonement by announcing her pregnancy to her fake royal family and to her parents, including step-dad Vizzini from the Princess Bride. Which is the best movie ever made in the history of the universe. Included in the huzzahs is prince humperdink's sister, who was smooching a priest the last time we saw her. Everyone pretends to be wildly happy. Except Serena, who is still a) mad about how she's portrayed in Dan's book b) trying to get the movie rights for Dan's book and c) apparently mad at Blair for something in Dan's book. Dan's book, still bad news. His daddy is still mad too. Dan is trying to make up with everyone but they all still hate him. Except Chuck, who fits right in at the dog park in a nice blue suit and schmoozes up a nice psychologist, and her doggie too. He tries to hit on her, but she's not interested. What! A girl isn't interested in Chuck? Serena is mad but pretends not to be so she can schmooze up the movie rights. Unfortunately for her, the magical six-fingered Harvey Weinstein is also fighting for it. Dan goes on TV and doesn't talk about Serena and now her job is in trouble. So she messes with Dan's big deal. Nate wants to be an editor and part of the Kennedy family. He's still working at the NYSpectator. Fake Charlie/Ivy is also working there. Elizabeth Hurley demands uber dirt on the Lily/Rufus clan. What a coincidence! Lily mentions that her ex-husband's super secret investigative files are right there in the living room. Nate helps her break into the safe with help from Chuck. Liz is also pushing Nate to get dirt on Serena. Why is Nate being her dog and pony show again? Did she have something on him? Then Liz shows up at the break fast to schmooze the prince's sister, Beatrice, who is crazy jealous and a little crazy. The Monaco royals want the baby born in Monaco and educated at boarding school in Switzerland. Blair wants differently. But then she changes her mind when Serena won't quit her job and have lunch with her. The royals draw up a very serious legal document that says she can't stay in New York for more than 48 hours at a time without being in danger of forfeiting her kid. The prince's mom threatens not to acknowledge the child but the prince says nuh-uh! He's the boss! During the dinner/party, there's a big close up of lox. It's not that big of a platter and there are a lot of people at this dinner. In my family, we're ready to eat our arms off after not eating and drinking for a day. Our break fast involves serious scarfing of the food and little patience for small talk. Nate is suddenly coming down with a case of ethics and doesn't want to turn over the secret files. Crazy Ivy super swears she won't do anything with them, but next thing you know, Liz has the files. Liz keeps something out of Bert's file. Oooh, what is it? We don't know, but Liz burned it. Chuck tries to hit on the therapist again, and she slam dunks him with the truth. That he never had a childhood, that he always has to be in control and so he pushes people away and is always alone. Hello reality check. Chuck calls her and leaves a message saying he's really serious this time about wanting help. Serena has completely messed up Dan's movie deal. She tells him he was the love of her life. Oh lord, Serena and Dan, again! How many times has she dumped him, left him hanging, strung him along. Dan, you lump, move on! But no, he calls Serena and tells her she can have the movie. Blair and her mom make nice. Blair decides to stay back in New York. Serena also shows up to be besties again and says she was jealous that Dan wrote more about his sweetie feelings for Blair. Then the would-be princess finds Louie in her bedroom, where he's found the real birth information. The prince calls… the same therapist Chuck was talking to?
P Recap...I Am Number Nine
Blair makes all of her former minions and Charlie compete to secure the coveted bridesmaid spots in her upcoming royal wedding. Nate is tired of keeping his relationship with Diana a secret, so he decides to use Charlie to make Diana jealous. Serena's boss is determined to acquire the film rights to Dan's book, so Serena must put her personal feelings about Dan and the book aside in order to close the deal.
