So this is my FIRST attempt at writing an OS. Lets hope it's up to scratch!
This is basically Arnav's POV after he tries to get close to Kushi near the pool on Diwali night! The ending is what I would personally hope would happen'
Here goes:
DIWALI NIGHT (SS)
What the hell had happened? This had started off as a game! Nothing but a game that had gone horribly wrong! He had challenged her into that contract with AR and NOW the joke was on him!
SHE had come into his life out of the blue! Literally falling into his arms off that ramp on that night in Lucknow so many months ago! At that time SHE had had no control and had tripped and fallen' Today HE was the one falling into HER arms! HE was the one who had no control, he was the one tripping and falling!
HOW did this happen? Best of all, how did this happen to him? To ASR?
HE had been the one to release that footage in Lucknow, and set into motion a chain of events that had landed her in HIS house on Diwali night at HIS poolside, and HE was the one at her mercy' HE was the one who could not control his emotions around her!
WHEN had he fallen in love with her? He knew the answer to that'.
At the time he had laughed it off'. Even during that conversation he had suspected that she had already arrived and he had not wanted to accept this truth! SO he had told Di that even if such a women EXISTED he will stay away from her! He had know full well why he had said that! He already KNEW she existed. But at the time, he had had no intention of ever acknowledging that!
However'.. tonight' after tying that payal back on her foot, and her looking SO beautiful in red in the moonlight, he had not been able to control his feelings! He HAD to touch her! He was drawn to her like a moth to a flame! He had gone close to her. Held her. Breathed in the scent of her. She had been reticent, but had not pushed him away' but even as he came even closer and bent down towards her face'. It dawned on him exactly what he was doing!
HE was her employer, and here he was accosting her in a dimly lit corner of his house and trying to get close to her! He had let go of her in that second! He had felt disappointed in himself! He had not expected himself to act in this way! What must SHE think of him? She must think him some sort of cad?? Trying to take advantage of her!
He could not bear to think of her thinking ill of him! Thinking he was some sort of Casanova out to get some kicks! DID she think that after tonight? Surly she knew him better than that? She has known him for months now, and she MUST know he would NEVER intentionally harm her?
He stopped himself sarcastically at that thought'.WHY would she think well of you ASR? I mean'. You screwed up her life in Lucknow, you let her fall out your cabin, you sent her to that condemned guest house and nearly got her killed! It was you who accused her of doing anything for money, you who dumped her on the middle of the street twice, and left her in a cold dark room on her own all night! WHY would she EVER think well of you?
But lately she seemed to have started to think of him differently? These days she was not as intimidated around him, and didnt avoid him. She looked him in the eyes and spoke to him! She had cared for him when he had his "Low blood sugar" incident, and had cared about him taking off to Nainital on his own without a phone!
SHE had come and hugged him in the hospital when her Dad was ill! She had trusted him enough to share her pain with him.
Ever since he had apologized to her, they have had this unofficial "truce"'
That may all be very well Arnav' but WHY would she think of you in any other way accept a now more "tolerable" employer? You are still "Rakshas Laad governor" to her.!
Here you are going crazy over her and thinking about her day and night! Do you think SHE looses any sleep over you?
But then why did she drink the leftover juice in his glass to punish herself for hurting him? That meant she HAD to care right? He remembered how he had felt seeing that footage yesterday. He had been shocked. But mostly deeply hurt that she would do this to him? Didn't she care about him at all? She still wanted to hurt him? He had felt like a fool. Then she had explained why she did it, and he had felt happiness invading him, especially after she drank his leftover juice. She DID care!
God what was he going to do? Now he had "come on" to her and she won't want to be around him anymore! He HAD to make her understand he was not trying to make a "pass" at her! What was he going to say? "I touched you because I couldn't help myself, because I'm in love with you"??
For one moment he just stopped and ALLOWED himself to think of what it would feel like if SHE loved him too? What if he told her he loved her and she told him she felt the same? His head almost started to SPIN at the thought. He felt a feeling of such euphoria come over him, it almost scared him! The thought that she loved him was almost too much for him to handle! How would he be able to bear such happiness? He couldn't remember a time in his life he had ever felt that happy (since his parents had died).
He didn't even KNOW what to do with the feeling! He HAD to talk to her, to see her to make her understand' that she meant EVERYTHING to him! But what did that mean exactly? It meant that he had to change his life so that SHE can be a part of it' he wanted her in his life permanently.
Arnav decided, tomorrow was the day. First thing in the morning he will speak to Lavanya and break things off with her. There had been nothing between them for such a long time anyway' she must have some idea that this was going nowhere. He knew all this was not fair to La, who in all honesty he considered a good friend now, and someone he genuinely cared about. La had become a good friend to Kushi too. So he had to do right by her. He didn't want to loose her friendship. She had done SO much to fit in with his family, and this was the least she deserved from him. An honest conversation, in which he had to let her know that a marriage between them would NEVER be possible! This time it was not because he didn't believe in marriage, but because he could not marry her, while madly in love with someone else! It was morally wrong to do such a thing. He could not do that to La, or to himself!
Once he talked to her and made her understand, he had to go to Kushi and make HER understand what she means to him and the place he wanted to give her in his life. A place he had NEVER thought he would give any women.
The place of his wife!
